Overall an excellent stay

We had an excellent stay. The room was booked as part of a work related event. We arrived early as I had booked a treatment and wanted to make use of the spa facilities, which were excellent, as was my massage. We had lunch in the bar, which was very limited in terms of the options I could eat, and one of those wasn't available, but what was served was tasty. Our check-in was delayed, the staff however were incredibly helpful and friendly throughout our visit and the service was excellent. Our room was large and comfortable and clean. Breakfast was very good with lots of options. Car parking was safe and easy, but limited in terms of availability, first come, first served. All in all an excellent stay. I would highly recommend staying here and would commend all the staff. Thank you for a lovely stay, we'll be back.

Excellent room, terrible service

We stayed on the 15th floor in a privilege room. The room was immaculate with the most luxurious bed & bedding. The ensuite had a huge bath tub and separate shower, plenty of hot water and lovely fluffy towels. There was lots of complimentary goodies, including shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. There was chocolate, bottled water, canned soft drinks, tea and coffee in the bedroom with a huge flat screened TV. The views across the city would have been spectacular had the windows been clean. That being said, the weather had been atrocious which had probably caused the dirt on the windows. I would highly recommend this hotel based on the accommodation, however it was badly let down by the surly, unfriendly and unhelpful staff. The young lady on reception gave me a filthy look when I said, ‘Good morning’ and I felt as if everything was too much trouble for them. The food in the restaurant was very ‘beige’ and overpriced with very little choice. The steak (£29) came with just chips and a sauce and was average at best. The Caesar salad (£13) was just lettuce, croutons and dressing – chicken was charged as an extra. Breakfast was poor and again expensive, costing extra if you didn’t prebook the night before. We did use the spa facilities which were clean and pleasant. I wouldn’t stay here again unless they upped their game with the food and service.

Generally good but housekeeping provided poor service

Excellent stay at this hotel, the room was really spacious and comfortable with a view over the city of Cardiff. Could not fault it at all and the staff, particularly those at reception were so friendly and helpful. A little bit of luxury in the city. The breakfast was vey good, with plenty on offer.Would happily recommend it and stay here again.

What a nice hotel. Roomy rooms, appointed well. Can walk to a multitude of restaurants & shops. Room has separate tub & showers. Very tight with towels. Would definitely stay again! Nice bar & dining area. Spa onsite( didn’t use). We had a corner room which was really good.
