Firstly I must say the staff were very friendly and helpful which is always welcoming. We had several issues though, firstly we were sent up to “our” room, got inside and there was another families belongings all inside, this was quickly resolved however and we were upgraded slightly- our room had a bath and shower. Secondly we were told by the reception staff upon arrival that our breakfast was included in the price so went down to breakfast the next morning only to be told we had to pay £18.00 each for a buffet! £18.00!!! What an absolute ripoff! It certainly wasn’t the best quality, fried eggs and hash browns were over cooked, sausages were of a poor quality, bacon was like cardboard and the croissants were stale. The next, possibly dangerous issue we had with the room was the power sockets randomly cutting out, we eventually worked out that this was caused by the mini fridge each time it powered up the electricity surged and cut out- potential fire hazard?! The pool is welcoming after walking around the city all day… if you can get into it! With the limit of 12 people at once- I totally understand that it’s for your own comfort but surely you should be able to book a time slot? We chose this hotel because of its proximity to Paddington station, next time however I shall be looking for a higher quality place to stay! I’d rather pay more for better quality.

Substandard Novotel

This really does not met the Novotel standard that you pay the extra for. The room had a very small bathroom and shower. What you would expect in an Ibis but here you pay double the price. The mini bar is only provided so they can sell you drinks. It is locked so you cannot use it for your own personnal use. We booked to be close to Paddington station but it is actually a fair walk from the station and is located in an office location so very empty at the weekend.

Hi scotaussie, I am sorry to learn that you were not entirely happy with your stay, however, when reading your review, I was left wondering whether you have stayed in our property in your recent visit to London. Minibars have no locking system installed, therefore, it should not be any reason why you would be prevented to use it to store any personal items. Novotel London Paddington is located in a quite lively area with cafes, bars and restaurants just across the road from us and our hotel is about three minutes walk from Paddington station. Clean hotel and well located

Location of this hotel is great. And the reception and hotel is clean. Great for families as they also have a nice pool. However the shower in our room was leaking water onto the floor outside and they took a day to resolve this.

This was our second stay at the Novotel and the area around the hotel seems to have improved since our last stay a few years ago. The hotel itself is just as good as ever, can't really fault it for the money.
