Excellent Location shame about the rooms

Stayed for birthday visit, when we booked we got a free upgrade to king room. Dread to think what standard room would have been like Pros! Area brilliant, only minutes away from Paddington station . Location fantastic. Staff very polite on arrival and room was ready from 12pm so very happy. Clean room , nicely decorated Fridge filled with water and coke Large TV (that did not work) Cons- Room on the 4th floor , one lift very slow. Room right opposite the lift very small corridor only one person wide so lift door virtually on out door. Floorboards extremely creaky, above us the same and kept us awake. TV did not get any signal despite us asking at reception who were getting maintenance to take a look but it never happened! My husband tried numerous times to retune it but we gave up. Bed not comfortable, I don’t think it was king size either! Sadly for £480 it was certainly not worth the money , will not stay again but staff very friendly and helpful ,but do not follow up on requests or complaints. Damp on walls,I will look elsewhere next visit.

Small, tiny rooms, heritage terrace, close to transport including Paddington station with Elizabethan line, connected to IHG hotel next door, they share the dining facilities, dining staff are rude if you don't eat in and want to waln through, they should sort out access between hotels or close the connection.

1 night stay for work event

Easy check in process, friendly welcoming staff, hotel and facilities seemed clean and well kept. Room - was on 5th floor, room was small without a mirror in the main element, space was to a minimum within the room, shower pressure not great. Full temperature control for the room, unfortunately the window handle was of a poor design and didn’t seem to lock full secure. Complimentary mini bar is a nice touch, good selection of drinks to choose from. The bed wasn’t the most comfortable, however well presented and plenty of pillows. As travelling for business, not much of a concern regarding room layout, if I was travelling as a couple the layout is not the best Would stay again

We were here on a corporate booking to attend an awards ceremony. ( would not have been my choice ) however to get 12 rooms in the same hotel seemed r to be difficult . Arrived at hotel and as soon as I gave my name I was asked for payment . I mean even before filling in the obligatory details . My room was nice enough but my colleague had the smallest room I have ever seen . A bed against the wall with a toilet . It was awful and we didn’t find until later that the 2 rooms that were booked where the people couldn’t come had to be paid for . Why they didn’t give them to my colleague I will never know. Anyway we met in the extremely small bar before going out . The staff were pleasant however once chatting it was discovered that some of us / or not as the case may be had some complimentary drinks in the fridge . Breakfast is in the adjoining Bella Italia. Continental all out and a decent choice to your table of hot choices . The hotel was clean and in a good position for The Hyde park area but felt could have done better for what we paid

You had been asked to pay for the rooms that did not show up, as that was part of the agreement your secretary signed for. We stayed at mercure hotel several times before and were happy to be back. We really appreciate the close location to paddington station and the kindness of the personal (especially a special thank to Witek for making our stay special). The rooms are cosy and quiet.
