This review covers multiple stays from April 2024 to June 2024. We were on a two month holiday going in and out of Italy with flights mostly departing from Terminal 5 at Heathrow so instead of staying in Central London (and I will cover this later) we decided to stay at the Sofitel Heathrow. We had on each of the 5 occasions we stayed 2 luxury rooms. I will recommend you book this room class as they seem to be on higher floors, include a free mini bar and breakfast. The Positives: The Hotel is impeccably maintained for an airport hotel, the lobby, restaurants, rooms and corridors are spotless and nothing was not operational. The luxury rooms are large with heaps of storage and good seating options and the beds are very comfortable. The bar is good with limited food options but the food is fresh and generous and the range of drinks very good. The Tea Lounge is nice to sit in with very good staff and the tea and coffee and cakes all very good. The Vivre Restaurant is similarly very good for a meal but I will say something about breakfast later. The hotel is connected by a walk way from Heathrow Terminal 5 and it is a very short walk from your plane to the hotel, they just could have a larger sign in the Terminal so you can find it the first time. At the end of the walk way is the arrivals hall of terminal 5 here there is a Marks and Spencers supermarket, a WH Smith News agents and a Boots Chemist so you can get things you might need close to the hotel. Also here is the Underground and Elizabeth Line so you can literally be in Central London in just on half an hour. Also there is a local bus depot here so you can take buses to local attractions if you wish. Hotels are really about their staff and I can relate that staff in the Vivre REstaurant always remembered us and the door staff were especially helpful and always welcomed us warmly on each new stay over the two months. The housekeeping staff were all very efficient and always responsive to anything you might want and resolved any problems we had which were few. The negatives: Be wary as two times I was overcharged by the hotel once on check out for 450 pounds and once on check in for 60 pounds. These amounts took over a week to then be put back in my credit card. These charges on my credit card incurred a 3% charge from my provider and the deposit back did as well so their mistakes actually cost be a bit of money on top of the funds they took by mistake. My recommendation is to prepay your room and pay as you go. The rooms do not have a clock. If you need to know the time to make sure you have time for your flight its handy to just check a clock. I know most people now have their phones but still its handy to have a clock. The food and beverage options in the tea lounge were a bit limited given its the all day dining venue and it might be helpful to have more than just sandwiches and salads. The breakfast at Vivre was pure dreck. I ended up going over to Marks and Spencer and buying yoghurt and fruit and eating that in my room. The hot food in the breakfast is never hot its cold. On my first Sunday I thought great I will have some hot food and got heartburn from eating cold bacon and sausages with grease congealed on them. The bakery options were limited and the fruit was only ever melon. Over the 2 months I stayed at the hotel about 18 days and only ate breakfast there twice as it was just not nice. And this was despite the breakfast being in my room rate. Most of the staff were wonderful as I said above and I know this is a very busy hotel but it took until our 5th stay for someone at the front desk to say Welcome back even though it would have been on the computer screen in front of them! This is despite the door staff, porters, Vivre staff, Tea Lounge staff and even housekeeping recognising us and warmly welcoming us back. Its just a little thing but its little things that matter. The costs for laundry in this hotel are prohibitive they want 6 pounds to wash one pair of underwear! Other airport hotels we stay in do not charge this much. I've tried to provide as much information as I can so you can make an informed choice. Would I stay at this Hotel again? You bet! Its convenience and its upkeep and amenities, and most of the staff, make it well worth the price it just like many properties has some minor quirks it needs to sort out.

Great service from Richard - the chef even came out re food choices and hero to ensure things that we did not like were excluded. The restaurant and food was great and Richard made us feel special and that we were in first class restaurant not an airport hotel . Would highly recommend people book here when staying at the Sofitel.

We had been traveling for five weeks and our final night before a very long flight home was at Sofitel. We were greeted upon entering and when we got to check in Marie offered us an upgrade and confirmed our dinner reservations and gave us directions to stores, bar’s & restaurant options. Our room was lovely, clean and quiet. We almost wished we could stay another day BUT! The gem of this hotel is that it’s connected directly to Heathrow International and the next morning we checked out walked to baggage drop and Ta~Da we were ready to get to our plane.
