Moved to a different hotel

I enjoyed the first night of my stay in the hotel I had paid for. On the second day, I was told I would need to vacate my room and that I was being moved to a different hotel. The reason I was given was due to a humanitarian initiative by state government, the entire hotel was required immediately. I was moved from the Sofitel over to the Pullman hotel, which is a far inferior property than what I had paid for. After raising my dissatisfaction, I was offered an upgrade for my next stay at the Sofitel. This is not a satisfactory response or offer. I may be a very long time before I am back in Brisbane, and my issue is with this stay not my future stay. I am extremely disappointed at receiving a lower standard of accomodation than was paid for.

We had a lovey stay and we enjoyed our night away. The room was clean and spacious. The only thing that would have made it more special would have been if our wedding anniversary was acknowledged. Even just a card in the room would have been a nice touch. We also requested a high floor and were given what appeared to be the lowest floor. I was a little disapointed by this but I totally understand requests can't always be met.

I've stayed at the Sofitel Melbourne several times, and was expecting similar standards and experience when I booked in to the Sofitel Brisbane. I always prefer to be positive and encouraging, but unfortunately on this occasion I was genuinely disappointed, despite great service from all of the staff I interacted with. The decor and fittings haven't kept pace with the rest of the world, and in particular I felt that the mattress was overdue for replacement, and the bathroom layout was too cramped. I'd prefer to see the bath gone to make things less claustrophobic.

The room was well serviced and suited our needs. The attention to covid safety was taken seriously and gave piece of mind to myself and my wife. The only criticism was the bed was uncomfortable and needed turning or retiring. Both my wife(who can be the princess and the pea) and myself did not enjoy the cloud like sleep we associate with Accor.

USUALLY STAY AT MARRIOTT WHERE SERVICE IS SUPERB. DUE TO COVID UNABLE TO BOOK IN SO CHOSE SOFITEL FIRSTLY IN MAY 20 AT WHICH TIME I WAS VERY IMPRESSED AND FELT THE ADDITIONAL COST WAS WELL WORTH IT. SERVICE SUPERB AND SUITE IMPECCABLE. MATTRESS VERY COMFORTABLE. THIS EXPERIENCED INFLUENCED CHOICE OF HOTEL FOR OUR STAY THIS TIME. HOWEVER, WHILST THE EXPERIENCE WAS ENJOYABLE IT WAS NOT QUITE UP TO PREVIOUS DESPITE THE PRICE OF APPRX 400$ A NIGHT. DAILY CLEANING OF ROOM WAS LACKLUSTRE DAY 1, NON EXISTENT DAY 2, AND MARGINAL AFTER COMPLAINT MADE ON DAY 2. MATTRESS WHILE COMFORTABLE WAS CLEARLY IN NEED OF REPLACEMENT. WHILST OVERALL THE EXPERIENCE WAS POSITIVE, I WOULD THINK ABOUT RETURNING TO THE MARRIOTT WHEN ABLE, OR ALTERNATIVELY TRYING ANOTHER HOTEL.

Two night stay for business in Brisbane and my time at the Sofitel is usually the "nice" bit. Staff are great, service and facilities are consistently high quality and the location is a bonus.

It was a little disappointing that the executive level is not offered - due to covid. It really makes your hotel experience. We were so greatful to be able to change our booking due to lockdown and wanted to book as early as possible as you didn't know what would happen. The repairs on the escalator was bad luck for us and not being able to go through Harquelin Jack due to not being open mean't having to walk around the block to get around okay on the way down but coming back - but understandable in this environment. Breakfast was superb with a lot of the patrons

We had a week at the Sofital, the staff were excellent and very helpful. The food in the restaurant was excellent but not cheap and the wine although wonderful was expensive. The breakfast buffet was good especially the omelets. Very comfortable beds.

Considering all that is going on with the uncertainty of our times it was so good to be in a hotel that truly does it’s best to still give outstanding service and detail to all things especially the small things that matter most, even though the staff are all under there own difficulties yet still remain so professional and understanding. A great reflection on management downward. Thanks again for a wonderful stay under the circumstances.
