I love the Sofitel brand and was a bit disappointed with how the Brisbane hotel is slipping. The executive lounge experience on the top floor was top notch with great food, attentive service and views all around. More recently it has been moved to the back of the restaurant which was ok whilst the food and service was still Sofitel standard. On our last visit, they seemed understaffed or undertrained and we even had to get our own cutlery and scramble around looking for water. The food was also a pale comparison to previous times. I feel its a shame as when I travel into Brisbane, one of the highlights used to be the Sofitel experience.

Outstanding in all but one aspect. Staff were brilliant, upon checkout I inquired if our explorer membership discount had been applied to food & beverage purchases. Checkout staff advised it hadn’t, and that it should have automatically been linked so the discount is automatically applied. The staff member offered to manually apply the discount, which was appreciated. A very minor gripe, the entire stay was thoroughly enjoyable, staff brilliant one again.

Disappointed that yet again was not allocated a room on the Club Floors despite being requested. And despite requesting the Welcome Amenity it did not arrive until after chasing it up in the evening.
