Welcoming staff, clean room. Unfortunately room (104) was located directly above the hotel function room, where there was a loud DJ set taking place from early evening. By the the time we returned to our room the party was in full swing. The noise travelling into our room was unbelievable! I talked to a member of staff at reception who kindly said that they would ask the party goers to turn it down - but I knew that would not really work and asked them not to try, as they promised the music would be off by 12. Can I suggest, in future, that the bedrooms directly above the function room are reserved for those at the party and other guests are located elsewhere?

fantastic booking experience booked in by the lovely octavier even checked me in early, after a bad night sleep at an ibis. really good services the sauna and steam room was amazing good facilities all around the view of the front was okay I do suggested a room not he 4th floor much better views

Checked in online - but still a lengthy wait as there was a queue as there was not enough check in staff. Room OK but bathroom was poor. Couldn't get bath to work, and the fawcetts kept dropping off. And they were also grimy and tarnished. I had to settle for a shower in the bath. Showers have improved a lot since then. And why a fridge with nothing in it? Breakfast was a little below what i would expect and the coffee was actually undrinkable - a pot of lukewarm, oily, "made at 6am" brown liquid. Coffee too has moved on since the halycon days of Novotel -na brand that once I thought was premium. Not so now. And a lot of competition in the immediate area.

Arrived at breakfast station at 09.45 to have food all items were out for breakfast except for an item that I requested to have more of and was told that breakfast had stopped and kitchen was closed so they will not be cooking anymore very disappointed with service.

Had a problem when my wife had to suddenly leave on the Wednesday, she mistakenly left me with no means to pay as she left with my wallet so I was unable to eat as your reception staff were very unsympathetic so I left & will not return. I've been a long time ACCOR member but will now cancel this.

Great food , very comfortable room , very helpful staff. A few negatives , stayed in room 304 and advised safe not working. Was advised engineer would come next day. Was never fixed. Also, grouting near toilet missing and should be filled. A small detail , but these are the things that differentiate between a good hotel and a great hotel. Finally , there are two domestic toasters in breakfast area. We had breakfast from Friday morning to Monday inclusive. One toaster had a note that it was out of order. The second, as it is not a commercial toaster is very slow and queue s firmed waiting. Surely an organisation the size of Accor can purchase a second toaster or get the bloody thing fixed . There does not appear to be accountability for sorting out housekeeping problems and these are the things that irritate guests and damage reputation s.

We stayed three nights at the Novotel in Bristol which is no more than a 10 minute walk from Bristol Temple Meads station. It is conveniently located near to the centre of Bristol and within easy walking distance of the quayside area where you will find the M shed museum and SS Great Britain. We were warmly greeted by the receptionist and our room on the 4th floor was a good size, clean, well-appointed with a bath. However the bath was almost uncomfortably narrow. Tea and coffee making facilities together with very small biscuits were provided. There was a desk for working and a radio loudspeaker device which could be attached by Bluetooth to a mobile phone. There was good wardrobe hanging space and even a small seating area with a coffee table. We did not have breakfast in the hotel because we thought it was very expensive at over £5 pounds per person. Instead we had breakfast in the so called ‘Engine shed’ where we could buy croissants, coffee or a full English breakfast at very low prices. I recommend this place. It was at the bottom of the station approach on the left as you walk up to the station and was absolutely excellent. There was nothing to complain about the Novotel. It was a perfectly satisfactory place to stay, but there was also nothing exceptional about it. It suited our needs as a base to explore Bristol on a quiet November weekend although on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights the rates were different. The Saturday night rate of £124 I thought was excessive!

Well located, clean, but noisy

I stayed for two nights for work, reception staff very nice and the room was a great size and very clean. Just as I turned the light out, the fire alarm went off. After leaping out of bed and heading out the door, it stopped. Receptions staff refused to say what caused the alarm but firmly said nothing to worry about and couldn't say what triggered it. This did nothing to reassure me and I didn't sleep well, half expecting the alarm to go off again. At 6 am the banging that had stopped at 10pm the night before restarted, yes having asked for a quiet room I was placed next to double doors to the gym, so first bangs from the double doors, then the weights dropping on the floor. Gym doors/weights noises ran from 6am each morning to 10pm each night. Maybe if I'd had a different room I'd be more positive, as everything else about the stay was great, but I'm not inclined to revisit, I need my sleep!

Stayed one night recently to see a show in Bristol. Staff were welcoming and helpful and my request for a high floor away from the lift area was fulfilled. However a 'girly weekend' arrived in the two rooms next and opposite ours and the noise was loud and distracting. I asked reception if we could move rooms and they did so with no problems. Breat customer service. Our breakfast the next morning was of good quality and tasty with a wide range on offer from continental to the full english.

The hotel is in a very good location for both the main shopping area and the marina / port side area and just a short walk from the railway station at Temple Meads. The staff were friendly and it’s only the other guests who sometimes ignore the COVID rules. The breakfast is exceptionally good and sets you up for a day of exploring.
