Family road trip stop off!

We stayed here as we were travelling down to the west coast of France and just wanted a place to rest our heads but we were so pleasantly surprised at how lovely the hotel was. We had room 136 (a privilege room) which had a double bed, and sofa bed. Had all the premium amenities but most of all the room was very clean! The breakfast was plentiful and fresh. Very nice! Having worked in hotels all my working life, this hotel was very good and if we were ever in the area again, we would definitely return. Beverley was wonderful too! Thank you for a great stay 😊

Mediocre - good in places, let down by certain staff

We arrived in Abbeville on a whim and were warmly welcomed by a very helpful gentleman at reception, who went out of his way to explain parking and made things easy for us. Our room was comfortable overall, with a small balcony that was lovely at sunset. A pillowcase needed changing and was dealt with immediately, though the showerhead was heavily scaled and in need of attention. Where the stay faltered was in the customer service from two members of staff in the evenings. On two occasions, fairly modest requests (a bowl of soup at 8pm, and later, help with emptying a small room bin after a day out) were met with a tone that implied we were asking something extraordinary. Once I gently pointed this out, the manner would suddenly soften, but the initial attitude left a lasting impression. Similarly, the bar service felt distant and unwelcoming. It’s a shame, because the rest of the staff we encountered were genuinely pleasant and helpful — especially the gentleman on check-in and another member of staff who kindly sourced fresh milk. Those positive moments stood in stark contrast to the off-putting interactions that otherwise coloured what could have been a perfectly pleasant stay.

Just passing through so didn't have time to appreciate all that the hotel has to offer. The bedroom was spotless with a large comfortable bed. Had already eaten earlier in the day so didn't have the pleasure of eating in the restaurant but the menu certainly looked inviting. Great choice of food for breakfast. Staff very friendly and helpful. The hotel does not have their own car park but free public parking is available within yards. Would certainly stay again.

Terrible Stay at Hotel Mercure Abbeville – Awful Food, Dark Room & Industrial "View

View"** My stay at Hotel Mercure Abbeville was deeply disappointing and not at all what I expected from a supposedly mid-range hotel. Between the dreadful dining experience, a depressingly dark room, and an appalling view, I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. **Evening Meal: Rubbery Steak & Lackluster Service** The restaurant was a complete letdown. I ordered a steak, hoping for a decent meal, but what arrived was practically inedible—tough, chewy, and with a texture like rubber. It was either extremely poor-quality meat or cooked so badly that it ruined any chance of enjoyment. The sides were bland and forgettable, and the service felt indifferent. For the price, I expected much better. **Dark, Depressing Room** My room was so poorly lit that it felt more like a cave than a hotel room. Even with all the lights on, it was dim and unwelcoming, making it impossible to relax properly. The lack of natural light (thanks to the "view") only made it worse. **"View" of Industrial Ducting – Seriously?** Speaking of the view—what a joke. I opened the curtains expecting at least a glimpse of the town or some greenery, but instead, I was greeted by a massive extractor vent and ducting system. It looked like the back of a factory, not a hotel that charges decent money for a night’s stay. **Overall: Would Not Return** The only positive was that the room was clean, but that’s the bare minimum. Between the terrible food, the dark and gloomy room, and the awful view, this hotel failed on multiple fronts. Save your money and stay somewhere else—Abbeville has better options.

We have stayed here several times over the past two years due to (originally) the proximity to the Euritunnel, but now because we know it is consistently good. A warm welcome at reception, ample rooms, well appointed and spotlessly clean. The lift is small but enough room for 2 plus luggage. Bed linen is good quality and the heating/air con easy to adjust. The restaurant is good. Quality of the food is excellent. Maybe some changes would be good as the menu doesn't seem to have changed much from previous visits. The bar is pleasant and the staff helpful and attentive. The hotel is centrally located and there is a large free of charge public car park about 150 metres away. We keep coming back as the staff are so helpful and friendly.
