We stayed here last weekend for the Rugby World Cup, a very clean hotel, very central, very good staff. Unfortunately it is a very hot building and we stayed over a sweltering weekend. Only found out that fans were available from reception on the last day. 🥵

Absolutely dire. Room like an oven - no A/C, just one puny fan. Noise from street the entire night = zero sleep. Attitude from woman on reception at breakfast was appalling. Even the woman cleaning the rooms was unpleasant. Don't stay here. There are dozens of other reasonably priced hotels in Lille, which I'm sure are massively superior to this dump.

I hesitated between two and three stars : it is a budget hotel, but only stay here if you pay little ! We had a TGV to catch in the morning and preferred to stay one night close to the station. It is at walking distance but not really close and not really easy to find. Moreover the neighbourhood is not first class. The rooms are basic, the breakfast also.

We chose this hotel on cost, but it turned out to be very well-located, an easy 10-minute walk from either Lille station and the city centre (Grand Place), and even closer to the old town. The hotel is clean and functional, with all the basics: comfy bed, tiny but well appointed ensuite shower-room, small desk and surprisingly comfortable chair, blackout blind on the window... Breakfast was the usual cold buffet items: cereals, fresh fruit, yogurt, cheese, breads, croissants, preserves, plus juices and hot drinks. All high quality except the whole apples (there was fruit salad too), which were dull and several were bruised - both mornings. Wifi was good both in our 4th floor room and in the breakfast room. Staff were rather dour, and not quite on it clearing breakfast detritus, for example, but that was fairly minor issue for us. But it was the location which made it special - just round the corner from Rue du Gand, a pretty cobbled street full of eating establishments and gateway to both the old town and the main centre.

Good central budget hotel, very close to town with many restaurants and bars nearby. Rooms were clean and comfortable, ensuite shower and toilet and towels were provided. We had a room at the back and front, the back was lovely and quiet but the front was very noisy with the window open. Typical central hotel with city ladies around and people hanging around outside to use the free wifi but overall a very pleasant 4 night safe family stay. Cannot comment on the breakfast as we took our own kettle and brews and ate out. Underground secure parking was a bonus at only 10E per day
