BLOOD-STAINED SHEETS, UNCHANGED BETWEEN GUESTS !!

On the morning of November 9, 2025, I discovered dried blood stains (about 1 cm) on the bedsheets. Clearly, the linen had not been washed or changed after the previous guest. This is a serious failure of basic hygiene standards. When I reported it, the receptionist said he couldn’t check every sheet one by one and downplayed the issue. This hotel clearly does not respect basic public health and hygiene standards. Avoid this hotel at all costs !

Dear Sir, We are truly sorry to read about your dissatisfaction following your stay at Ibis Styles Lille Centre Grand Place. Cleanliness, hygiene, and quality are absolute priorities for our team, and we regret that your experience did not meet your expectations. However, I would like to offer some clarification. I personally handled your check-out and took the time to discuss this matter with you. I explained that our linen is managed by our professional supplier ELIS, a company well known for its strict hygiene and quality control protocols. Each room is also systematically checked by our housekeeping team before a new guest arrives. While a human error can unfortunately occur, had you informed us of the issue when you first noticed it, we would, of course, have immediately offered you another room and taken the necessary corrective action. You did not raise any concern during breakfast or prior to your departure, and your comments were only made at check-out, later being shared across several online platforms. We regret that you did not give our team the opportunity to react on the spot and provide an immediate solution, as we always strive to do whenever a guest experiences an inconvenience. Please rest assured that we take every comment very seriously, and a reminder has been issued to both our team and our laundry provider to further strengthen our quality controls. We sincerely hope you will give us another opportunity to welcome you back and demonstrate the quality of service for which our establishment is known. Good that the price included breakfast which was good and nice bar , friendly staff the room was small but big bed and very comfy tiny bathroom but ok for one night .Good value al in all.

The hotel has everything needed in it's essential. I consider that for the daily cost the products (shampoo, breakfast, etc.) can be improved. I you wish to sleep comfortably and having a hot shower it's the right place, but don't expect more.

Slimline Ibis Styles, worth considering

A ‘slimline’ Ibis Styles compared to others I’ve stayed in. Very friendly and helpful staff. Limited on site bar but coffee etc available all day which is great. Rooms overlooking back courtyard are small and nice and quiet but prone to mosquitos in season (anti mosquito atomiser provided). Rooms overlooking road are bigger and brighter but may get some street noise. Good quality continental breakfast included. Worth considering as it is very central and only a 10 min walk from Eurostar terminal.

Great for a weekend getaway

Once we located it (I would recommend NOT USING GOOGLE MAPS) it is very well located using Opera House and Apple Store as landmarks and it is close to Lille Europe. Whilst the rooms are small and the lift even smaller it is not any different in size to any other city centre hotel I have stayed in. The staff were friendly and accommodating and the breakfast is perfectly adequate with freshly squeezed orange juice (you do have to request this it is not left out in the buffet area). Certainly had no complaints and would stay here again. My only small complaint is an a typical English tea drinker that the basic Thè was not available but this is a small niggle on what is otherwise a good value for money stay.
