Absolutely looooved staying at Mama Shelter Lille. Cocktails at the secret sunset party on the roof were πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘ŒπŸ‘Œ. Make sure you COME HUNGRY for the incredible brunch. There was one dish that was just a giant freshly baked cookie 🀯 - staff all so efficient and kind, special hat tip to Matthieu, Mika and Ludo, thank you for such a great weekend.

The hotel is very close to both train stations and a stones throw from the old town, so a great place to base your visit to Lille. The staff were very nice and helpful, able to answer our questions in our terrible version of French. The room was nice and the bathroom a good size. Found it a bit strange that there wasn’t any shampoo or tea/coffee making available. Maybe that is just me though. The bar and restaurant were great! The drinks lovely, especially the IPA and the Mama Loves You cocktail. The food was great too, especially the crunchy chicken in sesame sauce and the loaded fries with bacon!

Enjoyed the meal but we were mixed opinions. My wife had the vegetarian cauliflower steak which she thouroughly enjoyed . I had the bavette angus which was just ok. The restaurant had changed the menu the previous day & there were a few teething problems. Probably worth another visit.

Lovely place, very nice and welcoming staff. Centrally located and clean. Handy parking. Modern and young atmosphere. Good smell around, close to the station, but still quiete at night. The bed was not very comfy....however a good deal on our way home.
