We were very satisfied. The hotel is very nice and clean. The staff is very friendly and helpfull. The hotel is situated in a good place - close to metro station, so the connection to the London centre is great. There is a cable car over the River Thames nearby.

Good food, quick service, and great customer service from the waiter Byron at the upper deck restaurant. Food was reasonably price for how it presented and bo problems with waiting to order or waiting for the bill to arrive, thanks to Byron.

Too hot to handle

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights with our pet. We chose this hotel because of it’s proximity to the area we are exploring, and also because they allow pets and they have a secure parking area. We stayed here before and other Novotels as well being an Accor member. On check in, we were upgraded to an executive room (we booked superior room). The rooms are clean overall, some scaling and watermarks in the shower area but overall clean. Our mistake on the first day is that we did not check the room temperature, and just drop in our things and proceeded out exploring the area. On our return, the room is warm and the AC is blowing warm air. We adjust the temperature but to no good. We opened the window to let some cool air in but the temperature in London on those days is a bit warm, so it did not help. We can’t open the window all the time because our pet could easily fit in the gap and we are on the 6th floor! We reported our concern to the hotel reception, and they sent maintenance team, but they couldn’t fix the AC that time because accordingly the AC is centralised, and they couldn’t change the temperature for just one room. So, they moved us to another room (1 floor down). The problem is still the same, whatever temperature we set, hot air is blowing out which is around 25 degrees celcius as per the thermometer reading by the maintenace team. So, we proceeded down to the reception to complain. They said they couldn’t move us again as the hotel was full. I don’t wish to be moved I explained, I just need them to fix the temperature so we can sleep as we are attending an event the next day. I think their AC is not functioning at all which the manager explained that they don’t have air conditioning, only a centralised air cooling. In addition, he explained that the AC is set to warm setting because temperature in the past days was cooler, and that was the request of majority of the guests to set it as warm. He suggested to turn off the AC and wait until the temperature lowers and they will send up an electric fan. It was already 12 midnight by that time. Back to our room, we did what they have suggested and waited for the electric fan. We discovered that the TV was not working, but we are too tired to escalate, so we decided to do it in the morning. The electric fan did not arrived. We tried to sleep, but we couldn’t, it was too warm. We called again and they said they will send the electric fan, the fan arrived 4am. We were really disappointed. In the morning, I went to reception and asked for the manager. The team lead was there so she asked what is the problem. I explained the issue, and she said there is a maintenance work request now for our room and she apologised for the inconvenience. I explained that we need to be out by 10 am and we will be leaving our pet, so we don’t want anyone to be entering the room whilst we are out. She said that she requested for it to be urgent. She explained that the night team added a free breakfast for us due to the incovenience caused, and she will add 4 complementary drinks and 1 day free parking which we appreciate. I came back to the room and the maintenace team was there and tried to fix the AC but to no success. He then fix the TV and then lessen the gap on the window so we can safely open it to allow air to come in and suggested we to best place the fan to achieve good benefit. The AC problem was never sorted out for the duration of our stay, but it was bearable now we have the fan and window opened. I gave the rating as average because of the issue that happened. We are from a tropical country, so we have high tolerance to heat, but those days were just too hot in London, so we expected to have a comfortable stay, especialy this is an Accor hotel and it’s Novotel! To be fair, they were apologetic and tried their best to help out and solved the problem.

Great service and hospitality. I really enjoyed my breakfast which was a buffet service as it had a variety of food options to choose from. The staffs present on that day were all friendly, welcoming, respectful and always ready to help every time.

Good food and very good Service from Byron, really friendly and helpful at the restaurant Upper Deck, I can recommend it! The rooms are nice and clean and the view is nice on the Docklands, also a train station is nearby so good to reach wirh the public transport
