Great hotel! Reasonably priced, Very clean, immaculate bathroom. Piping hot buffet breakfast. They only put a small quantity of food out at a time, so it was all very fresh and hot. Decent quality sausages as well!. I’ve stayed in poorer 4 star hotels (this is only a 2 star) Great service, they even made us a pizza at 11pm! 24 hour parking straight over the road. About a 20 min walk right to the heart of the city centre. Recommended!

Improved but still could be better

Some six months ago, I vowed never to stay again at the Ibis Marlborough Street Leeds after a dreadful experience which I never wanted to repeat, however, due to an initial booking error, I have now resided at this hotel three times in the past couple weeks and have to report that it is much improved and I can now recommend this hotel to other potential clientele. Above all else customer service has improved immeasurably, the hotel team are now pleased to greet guests and provide them with admirable hospitality throughout their residence, striving to go that extra mile to ensure patrons can have the best stay possible. Special mention to the awesome barman Ian for his outstanding service and friendly words. The rooms are showing their age and would benefit from a refurbishment, however, the beds are extremely comfortable, the pillows soft and cosy and the duvet warming all aiding a good night's sleep. The disappointing aspects of the room are the dreadfully, small, old and miserable analogue television and the hard wooden desk chair which is horrible to sit on if working for long periods. The en-suite bathroom pod was spotlessly clean, and benefits from a powerful shower yet improvements could be made to the towels which were old and worn out. The hot and cold eat as much as you like breakfast buffet is fantastic and worth the money paid; a good variety of high-quality food and drink, well presented and expertly cooked. The hotel location is good, if not wonderful, being on the edge of the city centre, approximately a twenty-minute walk to the centre of the shopping, and nightlife areas together with the train and bus stations. (The train station is a £6 taxi ride away), car parking is easy.

Hotel check in was swift, reception staff were friendly. Hotel room was clean. Considering a main road near by, could not hear any traffic. Breakfast was good, food was hot. Bar was okay, sometimes had a wait a while for a member of staff to appear in the evening. Paid more than what the room was worth, but this was a last minute booking.

Clean room but basic. Toilet seemed like it was a plastic pod that has been added as an after thought but that's just my opinion. Staff were polite. Breakfast was okay but photos on website did not much up to selection. To be honest for 1 night I'm not sure why I paid £166!
