Was not the best of experiences we arrived late in the afternoon after a 22 hour flight from SYD. All we wanted to do was get to the room, which for a 6 night stay was probably a little small and had no draw space whatsoever, I don't recall even being offered an upgrade nor a welcome drink. when we got the room and settled into our suitcases the remote was missing , my wife decided she'd go down to reception to ask, when dhe came back she felt like a thief by the male and female reception staff, one of whom came to room and inspected the room to make sure we hadn't taken it, they didn't even have a remote with them he had to go to another room to find one. Apart from no draw space and having to live around two large suitcases the room was OK a little on the older side and like the carpet in the stair well which was worn and thread bear, the bed was clean and comfortable as was the bathroom. Next drama was the welcome drink saga where Kerri and I were going out and I asked about the welcome drink which we didn't get when we arrived, we were told by the female reception staff (who I had a lot of trouble understanding) that we could either have red or white wine or a beer. My wife asked for white wine, to which another staff member then said there's no white, my wife got upset and we walked out to do some site seeing. The welcome drink process does not seem to be the same across all Accor properties and wasn't explained at either arrival or when I asked initially. Much prefer the voucher to redeem at the bar, was much happier when I returned and the duty manager and ops manager were in reception and they listened to my feedback and sorted out the drink issue and agreed that if ther was not a white wine then they should have directed us to the bar, it seems this hotel has little wine bottles that they give you to take to your room, no voucher. Also it was not made clear that breakfast was only continental for first half hour of the breakfast opening hours, which annoyed us as if we got there on opening had to wait 30mins for hot food. The location was great for most tourist things with easy access to tube, buses and cabs. I would probably look for another property on our next visit to LON

I do apologize and indeed agree training is needed for some members of the team, which I have raised with the team leaders to avoid a reoccurence. Strange set up at check in. Waited till after 3pm for normal Checkin & the room wasn’t ready so got moved to an other. Being a member we get a free drink which rather than getting a nice drink at the bar was given to us in a brown paper bag?? Weird. Room was small but clean & the bed was comfy. Had to go & ask the room to be cleaned & fresh towels. Not the worse & not the best hotel.

Friendly staff but several things not working in the room when we arrived. Sink was blocked, bathroom mirror light not working and shower bracket loose and would not support shower head in position.
