Great location close to the British Museum with easy access to the Piccadilly Line through Russell Square station. The single room was comfortable and had everything I needed. The bathroom facilities were excellent.

The room was not up to the expected Mercure standard, with extremely high level of noise from both outside the hotel and within, coming from other guests and also the pipes due to toilet flushing or shower usage. The bed was not comfortable and not of a good size for a normal sized adult (height). There was also no question at check out about how the stay was for me or any of my colleagues, which is a bad example of customer service

The room was a respectable size and clean. The daily service kept it that way. Rooms face onto Southampton Row and noise may have been an issue for some guests, as there were earplugs provided, however it quietened down by bed time, and was quiet until I awoke in the mornings. The bathroom was a reasonable size, with a shower providing good water pressure (although there were a couple of occasions where I had to wait for the water to reach temperature). The staff were very helpful and professional, including in the breakfast area, and the breakfast I found enjoyable. The only issue I had was the wifi connection, which was not reliable in my room. There was always a strong signal, but sometimes I received a 'failed to find IP address' message or the connection was extremely slow. In the lobby and restaurant the connection was reliably good. The staff did try resetting the router on my level, so they certainly were trying to help. The location was good, particularly if you are going to the British Museum.

Staff very good and helpful unfortunately we didn't get a good night sleep firstly because the heating system was noisy it is one of those noises that gets into your head and you can't get it out and then the fire alarm keep going off from about 5.30am it went of about 5 or 6 times then that was the end of are nights sleep. We had a reduced mobility room and it was very tight to get the wheelchair in apart from that we would stay at this hotel again probably not in the same room

The breakfast, location, and welcome were all wonderful. Little can be done to correct the pitfalls of an older building (e.g., view, room size, etc.), but more could be done to improve the working order of the facilities. For example, the room was exceptionally hot and could not be cooled down (air/con was off for the season, I assume, and windows could not fully open). The shower did not drain and water temperature was quite variable.

Overall disappointing -room was too small and dated . The attached restaurant atmosphere pleasant but burger was dry and bun was stale. The starters of Calamari and chilli crab cakes good.

I spent one night at the hotel while on business in London. WIFI was excellent as I conducted a one hour meeting over the computer with no issues. Hotel room clean and quite spacious for London. No noise issues and room temperature was good. There was a stain on the bed throw which I only noticed the next morning and looked like a damp water stain where someone had sat on it whilst damp. This is the only reason why I gave an 8 instead of higher. breakfast was good and staff were pleasant.

Room was okay, empty mini bar useful for drinks, shower not powerful at all, air-conditioning not great, had hair dryer that you did not have to hold the button to use. Tea/ coffee facilities. I did not use the restaurant as I had already made arrangements. Check in was okay even using my Tesco vouchers to pay the balance with before I arrived.

The room was rather basic, but the location was great and the price was breakfast. Staff were helpful and the breakfast was good. Had dinner in the restaurant, which was very average.

The location is excellent for walking around London and there are good supermarkets and restaurants nearby. Room and bathroom very small but warm and clean. WiFi good. Staff very helpful. Breakfast very busy but of good quality. We would stay again.

We had a great time during our night in this establishment. First of all the people at the reception were really nice and welcoming, we even found someone who spoke french to make understanding a little easier, so thanks to Thomas. The room itself was great, very comfortable and clean and we had a lot of space and everything we could need like a fridge, some tea or coffee... The location of the hotel is really convenient too, close to a cute little park, many stores and restaurants nearby and in central London so it's easy to walk to many places like Westminster, Picadilly or Covent Garden. It was near perfect except for one small detail: The front door wasn't really soundproof so if someone was talking in the corridor or in while the waited for the elevator, we could hear everything they were saying, not a big deal and people were pretty respectful overall so 9/10.

When i arrived, they sent me to a room where I found somebody's clothes on the bad When my wi-fi wasn't connecting, reception said they couldn't help In the evening I asked if I could have room service in the morning around 6 am and they said yes, but at 6 am when I called they told me there was no room service The receptionists didn't listen to questions. I came down twice, first time to ask if there's a hair salon nearby, the second time to ask where I could buy a hair brush. The first time they said - oh, it's in the room on the shelf (they meant hairdryer). The second time they gave me a tooth brush. I do have an accent but I've been living in an English speaking environment for a long time and it's not that bad. They just dont listen.

was overall ok.. cons: king bed was two single beds and not joined so if you were in the middle of bed you had the bed separate. Towel warmer did not work. The showerhead was in corner of the tub and you had to squish into a corner to use. Makeup mirror was right on the wall beside the toilet, so you had to straddle the toilet to use. One morning I watched a man(guessing supervisor) yell at his employee ( caroline I think her name was). Hotel is not marked from the streets or sidewalk very well. Pros: Close to train station and amenities. The restaurant staff over new years was amazing and the continental breakfast was amazing and worth adding to your nights stay.
