Rooms very cold, front rooms noisy from traffic, need double glazed windows. Cleaning staff can be annoying in the morning with constant knocks on the door. Breakfast average, can do better. Staff very friendly and always helpful.

Stayed one night for the cursed child. 10’ walk to Russell Square and Leicester Square/Shaftesbury Avenue etc. very comfy soft bed, maybe not so comfy if you are larger as might not offer much support. Clean sheets, bathroom clean, usb charging, extra pillows. Toilet didn’t flush properly at all our whole stay, room 116. For parking we used the imperial hotel car park which was £24 for 24 hours and was the closest one, a 4’ walk not far. Due to Covid no hot breakfast which was disappointing as my son is Autistic and one of the only thing he eats is Sausages so he had no breakfast here. When I booked it pre Covid, it was booked with the understanding the breakfast was full English etc. overall it did what we needed it to do, but I wouldn’t have paid what we did had I have known an accurate review of the hotel and room. Staff were very helpful. I would spend my money on a better hotel for the money next time.

We arrived early to leave our bag and were greeted by a lovely receptionist. When we returned later we arrived at our room and were surprised how very small the room was. The. At broom was tiny and therefore the toilet brush had no home and had to be moved each time you moved inthe room. Not very hygenic. The shower cubicle was broken And the shower head had been left on the floor of the shower as constantly leaking. There barely any space for the kettle an to make a cup of tea. The room felt claustrophobic. It was in a good location for Covent Garden and for the Aldwych theatre which we walked to and from.

We had a lovely stay. Chose the hotel as used this chain previously. Staff were warm and welcoming. Tube stations are a short walk away.

Bubbles in the kettle

Room was adequate but the kettle had soap in it resulting in an annoyance. When the issue was raised the response was “people cooking rice probably”. It felt as if the fee being paid in the hope I had an adequate stay without as little effort to achieve it as possible

Check in/out - Promised early check in but it was declined at the desk - At checkout we were delayed by somebody checking in early! - We requested a room on a high floor. At check in were were told floors 7 and 6 were being refurbished. So imagine our surprise in the checkout queue when we heard someone requesting services to a sixth floor room. Room - In desperate need of refurbishment - Cramped, dark, cold - The King size bed was just too big for the room - Fridge was stuck in the corner on the floor and resembled a medical fridge rather than something usable - Radiator barely worked, although a (noisy) fan heater had been provided - Towel rail in the bathroom was barely working and at a fixed temperature, the room was cold and uncomfortable - The room was dark and dingy, with little natural light and no view Hotel facilities - We were very disappointed to discover that there was no bar or restaurant. A hotel without these actually can’t call itself a hotel, you are providing temporary lodging facilities - We understand that this facility is franchised and not in direct control, but feel we should have been advised at the booking stage. We booked through the Accor website, so no point in the hotel staff telling us it’s noted on the hotel website. Hotel staff - Front desk were well rehearsed with a full suite of reasons for the shortcomings of the hotel. As an exception Roberto was particularly helpful - Night Porter (didn’t get his name, but was from Italy) was particularly helpful - Breakfast room waitress was cheerful, helpful and efficient Overall - As a long standing Accor (Silver, sometimes Gold) Member I was disappointed with the hotel quality, comfort and facilities. I would take quite a lot of persuading to return here, and would not contemplate returning without assurances of room quality and restaurant/bar facilities.

Very small and cold room

Firstly the good things. The staff were all very helpful and welcoming. The hotel has a pleasant atmosphere, the reception area is very nice. The location is very central. Sadly this was spoilt by a very small room, nothing like the pictures of a standard room on your website. We could have just about lived with this but it was freezing! The central heating didn't work and the small heater placed in the room was too noisy to leave on all night so woke up cold. I realise central London is expensive but nevertheless I think this was not acceptable at the price we paid.

Lovely staff, made us feel welcome and the position of the hotel was perfect for our stay. However in the room the shower rail was broken and the room was heated by portable fan heaters that kept us awake during the night. Expected more form this chain, especially for the price we paid.

What’s the point of online check in?

I thought that checking in online beforehand and providing credit card information would speed up or even remove the check in process on arrival but it didn’t. Despite there being no warning message or email apparently my card hadn’t been accepted online so I had to go through the whole tedious process again, including completion of a guest information form! However we were able to check in an hour and a half early for which we were very grateful. We had booked small double rooms and they were well equipped with safe/iron/board/tea & coffee/hairdryer/shampoo/conditioner/shower gel. Shower room was compact, clean, fully functional with a great shower. Bed was clean and comfortable. Restaurant was closed because of the virus. Great location for the British Museum, easy walk to the West End.

Very pleasant staff but room not good. Radiators not working, bed badly made up Air con unit not neede but held together by black tape and looked unhygienic. Breakfast average- too much standing for too long on the buffet

I wish you’d have let me know you had no heating. Then to rub salt in the wound the contractors were working outside my room, the language was outrageous. I did email the General Manager, who swiftly replied, giving me a discount and an apology.

Carolina greeted us at reception and allowed us to check in early. She was charming and as Accor Club members we were given a bag of special treats. Nothing was too much trouble during our stay from the charming staff and our room was quiet and spotlessly clean. Above all we were in walking distance of all the key places in the west end.
