we arrived late for a four night stay at this hotel. Location is great and everything is in walking distance. Even public transport from the airport is just done with one change in between. Booked a king executive room facing the forbidden city. I am gold member and this was only acknowledged with drink voucher. When we went to the room we recognized that we received one facing the opposite site. I mean giving no upgrade is one thing, giving gold members downgrades is even worse. So we did complain at the reception desk and only then got the right room. But to be honest, don’t expect much view as the Waldorf hotel is just in front. Birthday has also not been recognized even they checked our passports. Room itself was outdated and in need of a refurbishment. The bathroom had a double door that didn’t even proper closed. WiFi was free and worked spotless. The executive lounge was nice and the stuff pleasant. Only downside was that drinks were only available in pairs, like two cokes, two beers and so on. Once gone you needed to ask for it. Breakfast was offered either there or downstairs. The selection downstairs was much better but upstairs the juices were freshly squeezed and omelette made to order by an chef. Location of this hotel was everything! Last time I stayed at the hotel and would prefer it again over the Novotel.

Bad experience staying in this hotel. Even though I checked in online, it still took a long time for the front counter to process before I could get the key. There is no difference in check-in online and physical. Upon going into the room, we discovered very low water pressure and muddy water coming from the basin tap. In fact, the room is very run down. I don't expect so for a hotel room not to mention an Executive Premier room. The parquet has cracking sound when stepped on, the door knob is loose, the bed and sofa are sunken and the chair is unstable. There were no toiletries except for lotion, shampoo, body wash and conditioner. We requested to change to another room, they were reluctant and simply told us the other rooms would be the same. Anna Liu only offered to help me feedback and took no initiative to help me resolve the issues. They should at least offer me to see other rooms. I have booked for 4 nights, but we chose to stay just 1 night given the room conditions and the staff attitude. When I called to request for next day checkout, they told me to change my booking online. I checked online and it indicated to call the hotel. I called the operator again and the one in charge of changing the booking told me to check with the front counter how to get my refund. She transferred me to the front counter but no one picked up the call after multiple tries. I have to make a trip personally down to the counter to check. The front counter staff then told me to just check out the next day and they would deduct from my deposit and refund the balance. I wasted a lot of my time due to their lack of comm. The front counter staff were lazy and not helpful at all. We chose not to suffer and pay more to stay in another hotel due to last-minute booking. It was also at the expense of sacrificing half day of my itinerary as i needed to check out and in to another hotel. I would not stay in this hotel again even though I have been an Accor member for more than 10 years. Never encounter such unpleasant experiences from any of my hotel stays. This will be the last.

Stayed for 8 nights in Nov. The first room allocated has a faulty aircon and the reception changed my room immediately on request.

The property has amazing location next to Wangfujing St with helpful staff. The rooms did not individual controls to heat/cool the rooms and was offered a table fan when complained. I am a Accor gold member and stayed on the premium floor in a king executive room.
