Booked a premium room & paid extra but very disappointed with the position of the room. Booking said high floor but we may as well have been in the basement - couldn't even see the sky from the window just looking at a blank concrete wall. Staff were not very helpful - we mucked up our parking but they did not advise on check in that we needed to move the car. Asked for directions to the rooftop bar but all we got was a thumb pointing around the corner with no advice on how to get in after 10 pm. The room was clean & tidy but for the price I would have expected a bit more.

Very disappointing stay. The room was extremely ugly and nothing like the professional photos shown on Booking. The “bed” was actually a sofa bed on wheels, very unstable and extremely uncomfortable – you could feel all the springs. Service was also poor: there is no daily cleaning, towels were not replaced, and when requested multiple times it took a very long time to receive them. On top of that, the room was very noisy: you could hear doors slamming, people talking, and all kinds of hallway noise. The elevators were another issue – only two elevators for a huge hotel, always crowded and with long waits. Overall, not worth the price at all. I had to change hotels and leave earlier than planned.

Girls weekend made easy!

Had 3 rooms for the Oasis concert weekend. Check in was simple and the staff were very lovely when I had dramas with the machine to help check in. My room was very close to the lift but it wasnt noisy. The rooms are quite small which is okay as i was literally just sleeping in it as we were out all the time. My Accor Gold was honoured and my niece loved it as I let her have the upgraded room for her very first hotel stay. Rooms and amenities were good, clean rooms, good showers! Location is perfect, right on the edge of Chinatown and good shopping areas. We had breakfast which was good value for a very cheap price. Definitely would stay again, especially after our flights home were cancelled on the morning and we were able to easily get a late check out for one room

I stayed in a standard queen room. As an Accor member I got a pretty good rate. Secure Car parking is about 10 minutes away and is a reasonable $24 per night. The hotel is in Chinatown area. The room was satisfactory but very dark and gloomy. I requested a room with natural light so instead they gave me a very dark room facing a warehouse wall, even with all the lights on it was still dark and gloomy. The staff were friendly.

Hi all just a quick one here. First stay ever at this Mercure in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Parking up Chinatown on Russell st same parking as for the Hyde. $24 a night and only a short stroll down to hotel. There is 5 min parking out front if needed. Room and hotel touch dated but got a room upgrade as platinum to top floor and everything functional. Welcome drinks at Blossoms next door at the Pullman grabbed a pizza no problem. Great staff all round. Very busy hotel. Hi to reception staff Lisa, Julian and Anish. Had a wonderful chat with the chef at Blossoms Mr Edan! Hi to Angie, Sofia and Beth your all legends. You made my welcome drinks and pizza order too easy. Highlight staff member was Ms Karen at breakfast I see why you are supervisor and your attention to detail and looking after Accor members was very very appreciated. Breakfast was good, everything you need pretty much there. Overall I was very well looked after as Platinum and at the right price for a functional space in the heart of Melbourne the Mercure Welcome does the trick
