Terrible, wouldn’t recommend

I booked to stay here months in advance. I had communicated with the hotel regarding needing x2 cots for my children and they replied via email and said that they could accomodate that. I phoned them 2 days prior to staying to confirm and chatted about parking as well. When we arrived to check in, there was no parks out the front of the hotel to use their ‘valet parking’, we parked across the road of the hotel and phoned and the person I spoke with was rude and said to do a couple of blocks until a park out the front became available. This was fun with a screaming baby and toddler. When we finally parked and went to check in, the lady said there should be 1 cot in the room and when I said that I had requested 2 she said she would call our room in 5 minutes to make sure their was 2. When we arrived in our room, there wasn’t even 1 cot. The lady never called. I tried calling reception and they said they would organise them to come up to the room. I went down to reception after calling them twice within over an hour. The service was terrible. We were looking online to stay at an alternate hotel for the 2 nights or drive back home (over 3 hours away) because of the terrible service. We waited over an hour for something that should have been in our room from check in time. The housekeeping gentleman that brought them up was very apologetic. He was the only friendly staff member we came across besides a valet parking gentleman. The hotel room was average for what you paid. Booked here as reviews online said it was kid friendly and was in a good location. Wasn’t that great and wouldn’t stay here again.

Old Hotel In Vibrant City

A hotel brand known by its name and expectations from traveller that it will live by the same. My recent stay at this hotel was for 13 nights and post a long stay it gave me an idea about certain back drops and negatives at this hotel. The housekeeping was not good at all for a guest who is staying for 2 weeks in the same room. The only aspect was to make the bed and put fresh towels. Rest cleaning of dust, glasses and water bottles refilling was not part of housekeeping. Long delays in providing basic dental kits to the guests. Breakfast section is decent and big enough to accommodate the guests. However the spread was same throughout and there was nothing new on the offering. The live egg section was the worst with delays and vaguely cooked eggs provided to guests. However the food on buffet was better and comforting. On the positive side, 1. room sizes are big which is rare in city hotel 2. Location is excelled in CBD with lots of things near by 3. Breakfast staff is helpful 4. Bar staff was at there best Overall a decent hotel due to its location and the brand value it’s carrying. However might not plan another stay.

Grandma weekend

We had a grandma weekend away and was a little disappointed with reception staff as not very welcoming which didn’t make a good start to our weekend also disappointed with no robes or slippers in our room as when sitting around the pool with our grandchildren other guest came up with robes and slipper on asking guest what room type they have as thinking they must of had a higher level room it wasn’t the case!!!!! So consistency would be nice. Air con was so noisy I have a recording but couldn’t work out how to attach on my iPad. Communication between reception and porters down stairs was non existent. The hand set in my room not working had to use hands free when ordering room service which was excellent came quick and hot …..good job room service department and persons at the bar also excellent……and didn’t have any interaction with breakfast staff.

Novotel is in a great location, near my work location and near shops that I visit frequently. The rooms are well furbished and spacious, offering great light, views, appliances and furniture. It is modern yet not overdone, and they offer many services to make your stay enjoyable - e.g. different types of pillows, blankets, room service. The room service has a great range of food, but the wait time varies. They also have a bar downstairs which can be a bit daunting walking by if busy. The only negative thing is the need for 2 separate elevators to get to your room. Otherwise great service, good food, great rooms and the lighting in the bathroom is perfect to do your makeup

We had a great stay @ the Novotel on Collins. Unbeatable for location and dining options the Novotel is a good all rounder with exceptional staff from check in, to dining to housekeeping. Parking available across Collin’s St, concierge services available with a shout out to the Amazing Julian, Joseph and Mathew, well done guys. Gym, pool and spa facilities available on level seven although can be popular during high occupancy. Housekeeping do a great job with another shout out to Ratika and Juan of the two that I met. Dining in house at the Lanes restaurant and bar is a must with a great contemporary selection. You will be blessed to be looked after the team especially the amazing and vivacious Ms Ema, a true hospitality professional. Huge thank you to front office team including Crystal, Merina and Tram. Breakfast was very good with some interesting options like self juicer and pancake maker. I particularly enjoyed the fragrant rice and bean curry in addition to all the standard western fare on offer. Cheers out to Tram. We had a great welcoming and comfortable stay with Accor loyalty fully recognised and after my fourth visit we would highly recommend to all on a heartbeat! Thank you sooo much team Novotel on Collins.
