Well located offering easy access to the bustling downtown area, which has lots of boutiques, restaurants, bars and diverse tourist attractions. Friendly, helpful staff, and the rooms are clean, air conditioned, and free hi-speed wifi. Decor is tired, and would benefit from being freshened up. Reasonable breakfast, but expensive against nearby cafes.

Not recommended but ok after a room change

Definitely not recommended, wil as regular traveller to nice will not stay in this hotel again. Rooms are very shabby with old carpets and chipped paint on all woodwork, although clean and compact. For a superior 4 star room we were disappointed, but we were comfortable in a smaller slightly newer room on 6th floor. The staff were very accomodating on our room change. Great location for old town, Massena Square, bars and shopping. Did not try breakfast. Super cafe round the corner. Also has Pop u roof top bar.

We stayed in the Mercure Nice Centre Grimaldi for a few nights over the Monaco Grand Prix weekend. We really enjoyed our visit. We had stayed in Nice before, but some years ago, and the hotel was in an excellent position for rekindling memories. Great position for shops, restaurants, the old town and Prom des Anglais. The station was only a short walking distance away. The bed was comfortable, room adequate, with air-con and cleaned daily. Nice sized bathroom. Just what we required for our stay. There was an added bonus of a rooftop area, great for chilling out and with a bar in the evening it was great for relaxing after a day exploring. Breakfast was a real bonus, great selection to chose from, and it set us up for the day ahead. All staff at the hotel were very friendly and more than welcoming. Be it in the dining room, at the reception desk, or the maids. All went out of their way to be helpful, which made for a great experience. We would definitely stay again in the future.

Disappointing for a 4* hotel. The drink cups in the room were paper cups, there were no glasses in the very small bathroom and no complementary water. Whilst their policy of no single use plastic is laudable, we couldn’t help feeling it was an excuse to cut costs. There are alternatives- a carafe of water? No toiletries except shower and hand wash. No dried milk with the drink sachets. The balcony wasn’t cleaned until we asked. All the balconies need a coat of paint. The foyer/ public area was very good but the room felt more 3*. On the plus side the roof top bar and relaxing area were good. Very good location - walking to old town, promenade/beach and lots of restaurants.

Nice modern hotel in the centre of town. Staff was very friendly, and breakfast was first class. Walking distance to the beach and surrounded by many restaurants. Rooms clean but a little small. Bed very comfortable and windows do open so plenty of fresh air.
