Hotel is a little dated interior wise yet the overall service is perfect. All the staffs were attentive and we had an amazing stay. The beds were the biggest w shave seen and the facilities in the hotel made up for those cloudy weather.

Extremely overpriced for an old and outdated hotel

We had a very disappointing stay at the Sofitel in Biarritz. The hotel is old and feels very tired. The restaurant seems to have been more recently renovated but the rooms, the bathrooms, the pool and all the other facilities are old. I don't see how this hotel can maintain its 5 star rating to be honest. Besides the oldness of the facilities we also had a bad experience in the restaurant with raw fish being served to our visiting friends. The room service quality was also not consistent with the same dish being served completely differently on different days. The reception and concierge staff are friendly and professional and that is the only upside I see from our stay. We have travelled all over the world and stayed at many luxury hotels and this is by far the worst one in terms of price/quality.

We had a good stay, comfortable, personnel very lovely and attentive. We loved the bar area, the spa treatment we had booked. The rooms/bathroom/WC have a clever layout that feels very good. Two dinners at the restaurant that is pretty expensive - first we took a menu which was quite fine. Second day we ate à la carte and were not happy. Too much money for food that was lacking the "finesse". They would need to improve the kitchen or lower the prices. Service was very lovely anyway. The other thing to review is the façade of the central part seen from the pool area. This looks like lack of money and should be reviewed. Anyway we would like to stay here again.

Great staff but so old property

we spent 6 days for a Thalassotherapy at this resort. The staff was very professional and friendly. All treatments were also really performed with professionalism. The restaurant is also of high standard. Unfortunately, the property is very old, with no refurbishment since years, it is kept clean but it is not anymore a 5 stars standard. What a pity!

Tired, dirty and overpriced

Calling this place a Five Star experience, and asking more than € 500 per night is a complete ripoff ! Our room was dirty, the whole Hotel needs a large refurbishment and refresh. Apart from a friendly and helpful staff, everything else was below average and does NOT warrant a Five Star Label. I only booked at the Sofitel - Le Miramar, because the next door neighbour, a TRUE Five Star experience, Hotel du Palais, was closed

Renovation is urgently needed

Perfect location, very nice and forthcoming/courteous staff but this place definitely needs a makeover! It‘s like a flashback to the 80ies. Carpets are completely worn, balconies and couches were dingy so sitting down and relaxing (eg during breakfast) was not really possibly. Sorry, but this is not what you‘d expect of a 5 star hotel. If been an Accor/Sofitel customer for quite some years now but this stay (suite) was extremely disappointing.

The hotel has a fantastic location with great sea views. The rooms and terraces are very spacious. We were warmly welcomed by the Guest Experience Manager and the service was excellent throughout the stay. Bathroom experience (water pressure, important to me!) was good. As per my personal opinion, the hotel requires a renovation update, especially la façade, otherwise all good and value for money.
