Very tired hotel

Staff were friendly, but the hotel is so tired and is in need of a major refurbishment. Everything is old. Food is average and the wine is rubbish. Its not hard to have reasonable wine on the list, it's like they have gone for the absolute cheapest they can find. This used to be a wonderful hotel, but it's well below par theses days . Location is great and believe it's the only reason people stay.

Great Location

The location of the hotel was great, 30 minutes walk to the Opera House and just down the road from the Lyric Theatre. Staff were amazing, friendly and attentive - really made me feel comfortable as soon I arrived. Room was small but adequate. There was some general maintenance required as the blind was pretty shabby and the paint was peeling off in the room and on the door. Sadly my room overlooked overlooking buildings and the street so can only imagine what the other side of the hotel would have offered.
