Once again a positive experience staying here. The room was spacious, clean, very quiet and dark at night. The staff at reception were pleasant and efficient when checking in and checking out. A delicious hot chocolate from the restaurant

The hotel is in great location, just close by central station via tram. The reception team were all very friendly, which were very helpful with our check in and explaining everything and we had another person upon our arrival that helped us with our luggage and initial details which is so kind we couldn’t get the name but a special thanks to the person also. Anyway the whole reception team is polite and helpful. The room, is very spacious and modern, is very comfortable, all clean. The hotel breakfast is excellent and has a lot of different and variety of food, dishes. The hotel also is in the walkable distance from main station, also other public transports, to go around and explore the city tourist attractions is easy and convenient. Overall I would stay and recommend staying at the hotel.

The reception team was rude and extremely unhelpful upon Check in and departure. We arrived at check in time of 2pm and informed our room was ready but could not provide access as it needed to be checked. Was assured this will be 5 mins away so we waited in the reception lobby with our 2 kids aged 2 and 1, who needed a sleep. 25 mins later I asked reception again if the room was ready, they had forgotten. The toilets in reception lobby were disgustingly dirty. Upon entering the room, I called housekeeping multiple times with no answer. We were left with No sheets or a made baby cot and required extra pillows and a bath plug. While we were out, I called to request this to our room, we were assured these will be placed in our room shortly. Approx. 2hours later we returned (it was around 7:15pm and our kids needed to go to sleep). Nothing was in our room, and I called again this time from the room phone and my mobile, I was calling with NO ANSWER for 18 mins. This is totally unacceptable for a hotel, what happens if we needed assistance. Your reception excuse was “sorry we were busy” yet I was down in reception in the last 20 mins and no one was down there. The baby’s cot mattress didn’t even exist. It was as hard as a piece of Plywood. Each night we got our baby ready to sleep he would scream knowing he had to sleep in there. This was traumatic for him, and we needed to add a quilt and blankets for extra support which is not SIDS Safe and extremely dangerous for a baby. Our access card, kept disabling multiple times, reception team were so rude in fixing this, it seemed to be too much effort for them. I had to call multiple times to see when our room was being serviced on a couple of days we were there. This was after 3pm in the afternoon and we had left before 9am. The Family suite we had needs a renovation, particularly the bathroom, there was a lot of mold in the sink and grout of the bathtub/shower. The carpet also needs replacing as there are a lot of stains. The only helpful and polite team members were the housekeeping team member who assisted us on the evening of Thursday 17 April and concierge.

The baby cot provided adheres to our safety guidelines but we understand that personal preference plays a significant role in comfort. Our maintenance programme ensures rooms are kept to a high standard, however, specific issues such as those you described will be carefully considered. Our reception facilities and amenities are regularly attended to, though feedback on the lobby restrooms will be conveyed for review. Finally we note your comments with regards to the standard of the property and are excited to advise that we will be undergoing a hotel refurbishment in the near future to address your concerns. The hotel was the only disappointment

First trip to Melbourne for the wife's bday, everything great except the hotel. A hotel with hundreds of room with only 1 working elevator! A long wait during busy hours. We checked in at 2:30pm and found some dirty/smelly (curry/gravy) plates left right at the room door. I talked to the front desk and they shifted the plates a few cm toward the corridor. Those dirty plates were not collected until the next day's afternoon! I said to the lady at the front desk that is not acceptable for a 4 star hotel, she replied that “we are not”. Well, fair enough, I would give it a 5 star rating if it is a non star motel. There was a noise issue as well, we were on 8th floor directly above a construction site. The wall between rooms was also rather thin, I could near next door snoring the whole night.

Only 1 out of 2 lifts was working to go from the ground floor to reception on level 3. The check in process seemed chaotic although staff were polite. We were given a letter at check in for the crew of one of the Chinese airlines. Given our age and ethnic background this seemed odd. We had dinner at the hotel and advised of an allergy to rocket. The charcuterie board arrived on a bed of rocket. Breakfast was chaotic as there were not enough staff to keep food supplies up and clean tables. The room needed maintenance, with the bedside light removed and the hole covered in tape. There were stains on the carpet inside and outside the room. One time the room was serviced but inexplicably no towels were left. We had hung the towels up as we were happy to use them again in accordance with the sign so it doesn’t make sense that that they were taken away.
