The location and facilities at Mercure Centre Notre-Dame were excellent. Especially the pool area and roof top bar was topclass. On the negative side, we were frustrated about not being able to open the windows in the room. When you don't have a balcony, and the sun is pouring into the room, it would have been nice to have windows that open. Also, it seems very unsafe in terms of emergiencies such as fires. But that was all in all the only negative feature.

We stayed in privilege room 704…. The bonus of outdoor space to soak in the spring sunshine was so appreciated & we just loved hearing the bells from the nearby Notre Dame Basilica (although if you like to sleep after 7am this may not suit you) So simple to travel from Airport to nearby tram stop (a short walk) We chose this hotel As it allowed good access to the Promenade, Old town and Nice Ville train station for a day trip to Monaco…. It met all of these needs perfectly. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean. Reception very helpful & cheery! We arrived to a note wishing my husband a happy birthday and a complimentary glass of champagne at the roof top bar, which I thought was a lovely personal touch. The bar has an amazing view & the pool looked great. Two minor points which may be worth considering…. As our room was directly under the bar at about 8.30am and 11.30pm we could hear chairs being moved about (I assume setting up, cleaning up) In addition during our stay there were a few items thrown over the edge of the roof from bar which landed on balcony (there are signs in bar asking patrons not to do this, so not sure what else could be done to stop this) It didn’t detract from our stay but may not suit others. Thanks for a memorable first trip to Nice…. I would thoroughly recommend a stay here!

We were two in the room, but there where only one chair in the room. there was missing a good light for easy reading in a book /magazine. we thougth we had ordred hotel inclusive breakfast, but this was added to the ending price
