The building needs a bit time to not get lost all the time, but those rooms are pretty nice. For a German Hotel it was average, I've slept in better equipped rooms in german hotels less Fancy. The beds slept amazingly good and the Curtains where very good at keeping the light out to sleep a bit longer into the day. Matrasses where Sublime, best of any hotel ever. Just the building was a bit hard to navigate trough all the Corridors, and the Bathroom very Average. Overal I would definitely book it again if the price had a good offer

good location, friendly staff, but security needs upgrade

The hotel is within a 15 minute walk from the Altstadt and the main station. The staff is friendly and my room (416) on the top floor was large and had a good bed, a minibar (empty) and safe. It was also clean. Dependable WiFi. I filled the minibar myself, but everything was taken out the next day. Upon departure, I got the content back and they told me a mistake had been made and a staff member thought that I had already departed. Strange, because my clothes and oher personal belongings were still in the room, so clearly the room was still visibly occupied. And a tip I left for housekeeping on the pillow, was also taken and not by the cleaning lady who came in later. And on the day of departure my keycard was already blocked when I returned from breakfast. I went down to reception and the card was unblocked, but without asking me for my name or any other proof of identity. So, by just mentioning a room number, I could have gotten access to any room. A couple of security issues for the hotel to solve.

Lovely property with good facilities. However front desk staff need to be trained better, maintenance and house keeping need better procedures to ensure things are working well.

Dissapointing for a Mecure Hotel and the price

I was extremely shocked by the level of service for a Mercure Hotel. I always stay at Mecure being an ACCOR Plus member. Upon arrival, we were told we were on the top level which had stairs to access. The receptionist, a gentleman didn't ask if we required help. I then asked if they could assist us (two females) with taking our bags up as they were heavy and he rolled his eyes. We proceeded to our room which was not to the standard we expected. We were missing a kettle, They brought a kettle and then there was no sugar, so they went back again. Throughout the stay, there was no service at all. The housekeeping was appalling. They would straighten our bed and leave all the dirty cups in the room. The room never looked clean. The only good thing I can say about the hotel is the location is handy and the bar staff (younger gentleman was great). I would not return to this hotel in the future and would not recommend it.
