Good stay apart from inadequate heating in bedrooms

It was a shame that the room was freezing when we arrived as the inadequate wall heater which had been turned off was unable to heat the room to anything near a comfortable and acceptable level. We reported this to the receptionist on checking out who said that they were aware of the situation. . We have stayed regularly ar this hotel over many years as it is convenient for the cruise terminals but will find alternatives until we hear this has been fixed.

Hotel with some good features but a lot of improvement needed especially with catering

This hotel has some good features, notably proximity to the station and the staff were generally very welcoming and helpful. On the not so good side, the heating in my room was not working and the food offerings were very expensive and poor. The first night we ordered what the menu described as cod fillet with chips and tartar sauce. No cod fillet was on the plate which arrived just a small number of tiny goujons of fish, a small portion of chips and a tiny portion of peas. Apparently they had no tartar sauce. We also ordered a salad from the menu but they couldn't do this as they had no lettuce! The next day's curry was lukewarm and so it went on. All food was very poor value for the high prices charged.

I stayed at the Novotel Hotel 2nd time within last 3 months. What I see as improvement areas: - breakfast is the same every day and very limited option. If anyone stays for more than 2 days, it becomes a challenge to eat same thing all the time - water in the room is not always filled in after consumption - bathroom equipment not always working properly ie water licking from the shower pipe and humidity is not being pulled by aircon system (usually not working) spreading humidity from bathroom to bedroom If basics can be fixed, I see no reason why not to stay at Novotel. At this stage I do consider going for different place next time.

We had a lovely 2 night stay in your family room for our Annual Xmas shopping weekend. Room was very clean, with a drink station ready for you. We used the swimming pool, & sauna again what a treat! We find everything to be clean. Little point- I found that the shower in the women's changing area wasn't running properly out of the top it was leaking out all over the place not massive issue, just needs descaling or replacing for it to run out smooth again. when you have hair as long as mine it was little challenging to wash, I used the other shower next to the sauna the following. Front of house was great- 24 hour service on the counter, always seemed friendly and welcoming. We didn't eat here so can't comment on the food but restaurant seemed busy. Paid for 3 days parking £30 which I feel a good price.
