Quiet central location

Great location, just a 5-6 minute stroll to shops and centre, but a quiet hotel with parking. Separate toilet to shower, useful at times, but would be good if there was also a sink in there. Would definitely stay here again. Friendly, helpful staff.

It’s about a 20 min walk from the centre, 22 to York train station. Room is rather basic but has everything you need. Quite outdated however, a scratchy couch with one rough red cushion. A tree decal that was a square on the back wall. The bed was fine- mattress and bedding great. Hair dryer, towels and iron/iron board provided. Small coffee/tea selection with UHT milk pods and cartons of water in the mini fridge. Safe in room too. There was quite a lot of marks and ‘landlord repairs’ shall we say, like dodgy fillings. Air con/heaters were so noisy I couldn’t sleep. God knows what everyone was up to because I heard none stop banging all night (literally). Some more questionably loud than others. The air con or the units were making such god awful loud noises through the night. It was just hard to sleep really. We were in room 115. Breakfast was £15 each so said no to that. You get a 30 min time slot for the pool and sauna this was lovely especially as we woke up feeling exhausted so it woke us up. All the staff were so lovely you can’t fault any of them. Would reccomend it here if you’re not a light sleeper because the important bits were fine but the noise was definitely the biggest issue

I'm sorry to say this but had the worst sleep ever! Not even a proper double mattress just two singles zipped together! Pool was over crowded and children allowed to jump in pool when people trying to swim! Room was dirty and pillows were next to useless! For the money you do not get value

We have only just replaced our pillows in the bedrooms to have 2 soft and two hard ones. Rooms are not clean, linen is not clean, cutlery at a breakfast buffet is dirty. Definitely will never stay there again!
