ibis Wien Mariahilf 3 estrelas

My wife has always wanted to visit the Vienna Christmas market and we weren't disappointed. The holiday company who helped us choose our accommodation advised that the Ibis was well situated to visit the many markets and attractions that Vienna offers and they were correct. The hotel is only a few hundred metres from the tube and the fares are very reasonably priced. Also there was a stop (blue line stop 5) for one of the hop on hop off buses immediately outside the hotel so couldn't have been better. The room was well furnished and neat and clean do no complaints from us. Only thing that would suggest would have been a kettle with tea and coffee items for the room but there was a bar on the ground floor offering tea and coffee etc so was no great loss. We were bed and breakfast and couldn't fault the service, offers a range of hot items including the standard 'continental' breakfast so certainly set us up for the busy days ahead. The staff throughout the hotel were also so helpful and friendly to everyone. Would certainly stay at the Ibis again

Enjoyed our four nights at this hotel. Rooms and beds were comfortable and the buffet breakfast was very good. Staff were friendly and helpful, we got great advice about getting to the Christmas markets and a taxi was ordered for us on our final evening, to get us back to the airport. The hotel is about an 8 minute walk to Westbahnhof metro station, which serves the City Centre and many other districts of Vienna. The airport is about 20 minutes away from the hotel by road. They serve an excellent local beer on draught at the hotel bar, plus bar snacks such as cheese, tomato and pesto paninis which tasted nice. Road noise wasn't a problem, even though the hotel is located next to a busy highway. Overall we had a great time and would certainly return to this hotel. The only downsides were the lack of English speaking TV channels (we only found news channels) and the free Wi-Fi, that can used to cast Netflix and YouTube to the TV, was unreliable at times.

my experience at the hotel was like this. the hotel staff is great, the hotel room was ok but the bathroom was very small. The worst part seemed to me at breakfast, where you didn't really have much to choose from and it was in the canteen system, that is, you got a tray to put your food in, which doesn't seem normal to me in a 3-star hotel, the meals were like fast food and something everything was the same only as poor! there is a parking garage available for 18 euros per day

We came here only due to Austrian Airlines being late and us missing our flight. They put us up in this hotel which had proven to be very good for the one night's stay. The room was nice and modern with a nice view of the church opposite. The breakfast was excellent and the staff were very friendly. It was also very close to the metro which enabled us to explore the city centre.

It is a good budget hotel in the heart of the city right opposite to Mariahilfer gurtel tram station and about 300+ metres from Westbanholf station. The breakfast is fine with quite a number of options but very crowded after 8.00 am. The DIY waffle is good but it is usually occupied. You have to wait but not long. The room is quite small with no fridge but clean. Some rooms of improvement are as follows: 1. The light of the room needs improvement. It is too dark. 2. There are barely no English TV channels. 3. They should have two bins. One in the bedroom and another in the shower. There is only one in a shower. 4. It would be nice if they could provide a kettle and complimentary coffee and water in the room.
