We arrived to no one on what appeared to be main reception. Eventually a young girl arrived. She checked us in. On entry to our room we found our toilet blocked. Tried to phone but the phone was put down on us. We went down, had to wait ages as only one girl checking everyone in. She advised she would come up and sort in 10 minutes. Half hour went by and she eventually arrived but couldn't sort. She advised she would move us. So we went to dinner whilst she tried to organise. Advised someone had been up and sorted toilet. The toilets in main reception area had no lock on them either. After walking around our room our feet were filthy so floors not clean. Then when we checked out next morning they tried to charge us more than was due. Again only one person on. After about 30 mins of investigation it turned out they had added another families evening meal to ours. Location to the old town was perfect so was great in that respect for our short stay but wouldn't stay there again.

The modern, open plan reception was confusing - maybe that'S. just me. But when we found her, the receptionist was very friendly. Our rooms (we had a double with attached single) were described on my reservation as accessible, but they were absolutely not, so please phone to check (or stay elsewhere) if accessibility is required. We decided to not raise an issue at the time, as we were not travelling with a wheelchair. However, the rooms were comfortable and impeccably clean, with views of the river and the old city opposite from the windows, the shower was powerful and supplied with shower gel, and the towels were pleasingly big enough! I asked the receptionist where the old city'S. son et lumiere took place. She told me precisely, but it turned out she only gave half the information. That was quite surprising seeing as it takes place every night every summer. We had found free parking on the roadside right outside the hotel, and we didn't eat there so cannot rate the food. We enjoyed a great night'S. sleep at this hotel.

The staff at Le Mans centre were very helpful both in terms of checking in and providing relevant information for our stay. I also left my iPad behind after checking out but received a phone call within an hour and was able to return and collect it. Excellent service.
