The worst hotel i've ever stayed in.

I've booked this hotel for two weeks. If I knew what conditions are here I wouldn't book it even for one night. The smell of dust and old carpet is disgusting. You can not sleep due to the the noise form corridor and from neighbours, the doors are so old and the walls are so thin. You wake up several times a night because of the unbearable noise. Is the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. The staff can't do nothing about that as the hotel is extremely old and not renovated at all.

Dear Cristina, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, We're sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. But honestly we do not have any carpet in the hotel anymore due to our last renovations by beginning of 2023. Therefore we are wondering if you are evaluating the right hotel in Saarbruecken? We have invested permanently in our house since 2016. All 100 bathrooms have been completely renovated, the air conditioning and the heating system with 100 heaters have been modernized and brought up to the latest state of the art. We have also renovated the public area and the restaurant, as well the restaurant furniture and lobby furniture have been replaced. The floors were also replaced in all guest rooms in 2023 and the new Mercure box spring bed has already been installed in some rooms. The elevator was also replaced and renewed in 2022 as well as all windows to a modern, energetically up-to-date versions. As you can see, the entire hotel is gradually being modernized and progress is being made step by step. It would be our pleasure to welcome you again. We would like to convince you of our service. We had read the reviews and were a little unsure about our reservation but we thought we would give it a try. It was terrible. We knew that the location wasn't in town and near the motorway but didn't realise how industrial it would be (with a truck stop opposite) The hotel is very tired and needs to be completely refurbished, particularly the room, I read that they we're updated in 2016 but they are already showing wear. Also breakfast, whilst quite varied was of very low quality. One good point was the pressure of the shower and the toiletries in the bathroom. The staff at breakfast were friendly and attentive however the front desk staff were shockingly poor with regards to customer service. On the first night, our 2 year old son found beer cans in our room from the previous guests! When I mentioned this the next day to the front desk staff, rather than apologising she merely shrugged her shoulders! I was gobsmacked! We stayed at a Mercure in France a few weeks ago and the level of service qnd facilities in the hotel could not have been more different. In France the staff were friendly, the room modern and the breakfast was varied and delicious. This could not be said for the Mercure Saarbruken Sud. We will not return or recommend.

I am sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations; please allow me to express my sincerest apologies. I totally understand that you expect a 100% cleaned room and i feel a bit shamed that we did not meet that expectation. I feel very sorry for that! Nevertheless i have to mention that we are in a process of modernization at the moment. We have already renovated and modernized all 100 bathrooms, the restaurant and the lobby, the facade, some of the furniture and bedding and the air conditioning with heating system. All our rooms are equipped with new windows and parquet as well. Thank you very much for mentioning our good and friendly staff at the restaurant. But the location is as it is. That can be checked prior reservation by google maps. We appreciate your sharing your concerns, and it is our hope that you will give us the opportunity to better serve you in the near future.
