Stopped here on way home from Paris to charge the car. Excellent Ionity charge (6 x 350kW) all working and obviously fast charging. Popped into the Novotel for some breakfast, very friendly staff and nice continental breakfast for just over €8. Probably best charging experience I’ve had, and very conveniently located just off A1 (North or South bound).

This hotel is a joke. At checkin we were asked if we wanted to pay in advance. We said no (we are on hols and are in no rush in the morning) The receptionist then said we could therefore charge anything to the room. Luggage in room; we went to the bar ordered drinks and the young lady informed me that I could not charge them to the room. She said I had to get reception to authorise it. I returned to reception (8 steps away) and explained the situation. She informed me that I could charge anything to the room. I explained that her mate at the bar did not agree. A high tech exchange then took place across the bar area. In the shouted exchange the receptionist appeared to confirm that I could charge the drinks to the room. I then went for a second beer. It was a different bar person who said I could not charge the beer to the room. This time the shouted exchange took place between him and his female colleague at the other end of the bar and it transpired that I could once again charge the beer to the room. Later we went for dinner food was good service ok. As we left the restaurant I asked if I had to sign the bill and was told that I had to pay it I could not charge it to the room. Just back in the room and so pissed off with the lack of joined up processes and systems that I had to record this. I am looking forward to tomorrow’s adventure when I try to pay the bill.

Rooms and bed are relaxing and clean. Food was bad at dinner. Hope breakfast is better. Parking is good. Atmosphere nice. Location in really good for our roadtrip. Recommend this for sleeping. You can forget about the bar, restaurant and smiles. Staff was desent.

Love Novotels and use them a lot. This one was great. Room was lovely, air con worked well and very welcome. Great meal in the evening and lots of drinks on the terrace in the afternoon. Maybe more drinking water for the bedrooms during the summer as one bottle in a double room isn’t a lot. Team were all great that we encountered.

Not recommended overall. The front desk clerk worked as bartender and room service delivery and front desk was excellent

TORN1 Solo travel - Ulasan TripAdvisor tersertifikasi

Many levels of disfunctionality at this property. Firstly with booking as an all-Accor member it was cheaper for me to book through Expedia. Not abnormal seeing I booked the property just minutes before arrival. Check in was fine. One desk clerk which is to be expected at 7pm. Was issued a room which I went to and upon opening the door there was stale cigarette odour in the room and the sheets looked unkept. I thought maybe this hotel was going for the French rustic look. I pulled back the sheets and most definitely this room hadn’t been cleaned by housekeeping from the previous occupants. I went to the desk to ask for another room, which I received. She was rather apologetic and I stated not to worry as these things happen. I was just thankful to get a room, albeit the second last room at the end of the hotel. The room was well set up although the thermostat could not be set lower than 24C otherwise an error code came up in the screen. I prefer to sleep in a cool room and 24c was well above my comfort level. I also noticed the room had very slow and itchy wifi internet access. I thought it must be due to the location of the room. So when I wanted to make a video call, and have dinner, I went to the front of the hotel but was told I didn’t have a reservation for dinner then unfortunately I couldn’t be served, nor could they provide room service. The server said he was the only one working. Hence no service. Again I found that acceptable as it was 830pm. So I tried to use the internet and same issue up front. Patchy wifi and kept cutting out. Sitting in the front I observed the front desk. The check in person was not behind the counter but was rather barefooted and delivering meal trays to rooms. As well she worked behind the bar and tended to guests that were still checking in. She was way overworked, as was the line waiter and I imagine cook in the kitchen. Those front line staff were doing their best and should be commended by management. I believe it is bad management allowing normal operations if the hotel with such obvious lack of staff. I apologized to the front desk clerk as she was obviously stressed as she couldn’t do one job to her own satisfaction because she was being spread out too thinly. Shame on management for making staff do the roles of multiple staff.

The young lady that was at the reception is a treasure to our team and I have thanked her for her reactivity and her professional attitude on this evening. I fully agree with you that she did her best to look after all our guests given the unforeseeable and difficult circumstances. I will give her your compliments. I would like to reassure you on certain remarks made in your review. Firstly, the air-conditioning in the room is checked frequently and repaired when necessary. Our hotel will be fully equipped with a new high-speed FIBER connection by the middle of the July, we are in the process of renewing the whole system at the moment and it can be very slow at the time, I regret you encountered this issue during your stay. I am very sorry that you were not able to have dinner in our hotel, but as you have discovered we are having great difficulty at finding, staff and we try to organise as best as we can the evening service to avoid long waits for our guest and also multitasking for our team members. We have for this reason limited normal operations as you suggested we try to do. As a team leader, I believe that personal satisfaction for my colleges is very important and I can assure you that it is not in my intention to overwork any of my staff. Sometimes we are confronted with unplanned events. I apologise, and I remain faithfully yours for any further questions or remarks. Wishing you a lovely day.
