I've stayed at dozens of in-terminal airport hotels around the world. I own a travel agency and I'm Accor Platinum. From the reviews, I expected this Sofitel to be mediocre at best but I was completely wrong. These days, hotels are often crowded, you're treated like a number, and things don't feel special. I booked a one-night stay during a difficult time in my life - after a very long trip. When I arrived, I was greeted by Ignatius - with a huge smile, some really sweet questions, and then a surprise. Even though I booked my stay through an agency, he honored my Platinum benefits without me even asking - including an upgrade, lounge access, and a full minibar, plus welcome drink. These are small, but really meaningful things. It made my week. This property is BEYOND lucky to have people like Ignatius. If anyone from management is reading this, please give him a promotion. I will never stay at another hotel at Heathrow again. Truly a majestic experience.

We chose the hotel because we are Accor members and this is an extremely convenient location for Heathrow T5 and we had a quite early flight the following day. At check in, arriving very late after a full day of travel, Rebecca at the Reception desk was very thoughtful and helpful. Recognising just how tired we were she upgraded our room to a much more comfortable suite. We were only staying for one night but this made a big difference to us. We were able to rest and recharge ready for the next day of long haul travel.

Wonderful easy check in experience with Pallavi and another gentleman whos name I didnt catch unfortunately, comfy room and nice offerings in the bar :) I had some packages sent for me in advance and they were ready and waiting to be delivered to my room on arrival, very east process. I would definitely recommend and hope to return!

Great hotel, but awful bar service

This is definitely a review of who halves: Hotel: excellent! The rooms are incredibly well kept and comfortable. Unfortunately I did have some issues with the first room assigned - the door didn’t open - but this was resolved with little delay and I was promptly given an upgraded room. Bar: slow & poor service which seemed to be due to bad management! They were clearly understaffed, running out of glasses and lacking management control. It was a free for all when ordering - no acknowledgment of who was there first and it was just a “he who shouts loudest gets the service” which is incredibly frustrating.
