What was your inspiration for the Park Suite by Coco Republic?

The inspiration for The Park Suite was taken from the immediate surroundings, the elevated, breathtaking view across Hyde Park, we wanted to create a luxurious home from home that would make the guest feel like they were wrapped in luxury and comfort.

There really is everything you need in The Park Suite, it’s a premium executive suite designed for the most discerning travellers. 

What is your favourite element of, or piece in, the room?

The Brussels occasional chair, a highly structural piece that adds modernist glamour to any space it inhabits. The polished brass frame offsets the luxe velvet upholstery perfectly. The perfect statement chair and incredibly comfortable.

What are you hoping that guests feel when they stay in The Park Suite?

We want to take their breath away from the moment they enter, a pleasant surprise at the end of a long day. We hope they never want to leave. 

What do you love and hate about standard hotel rooms?

Too many hotel rooms are bland, lacking creativity and design, especially hotels that cater for corporate groups, however, corporate travellers want luxury too, they want to be inspired and enjoy their stay.

There has definitely been a shift in hotel design in Australia with more hotels offering a lifestyle element regardless of what type of traveller they cater for.

I love arriving at a heavily themed hotel and exploring the design elements, especially in European hotels, but then European countries have centuries of varied architectural details to highlight and enjoy.

What feature would you like to see more of in hotel rooms?

Colour. It doesn’t have to beige or grey, colour can be explored tastefully and is proven to have a positive effect on your mood and general disposition. We need to explore further with both colour, texture and form in hotel rooms.

How would you describe the Park Suite by Coco Republic in 3 words?

• Opulent
• Comfortable

If you could style / refurbish any hotel in the world, which one would it be?

I would love to find and all but ruined, run down old farmhouse set on land to create the ultimate rural escape.
