When we arrive at TRIBE Paris Pantin, we soon notice it's geared towards flexibility, generous hospitality and anticipating guest needs, set against a chic-boho décor and minus all the fuss of stuffy hotels. We step straight into the Social Hub, an inviting whirl of colour and convivial interaction all day long. Coffee, cocktails and meals-to-go are available 24/7, and eating in the restaurant – with its well-balanced, healthy menus – is like being wrapped in a caring Italian embrace. Again, all is tailored to accommodate our hectic 21st-century lives. They’ve got their bedrooms exactly right too; comfortable and soothing in their streamlined functionality. In fact, everything at TRIBE Paris Pantin has its purpose and its place, and when that combines with the thoughtfulness of the hotel staff, there is truly nowhere we would rather stay.
What hits us first about TRIBE Paris Pantin? Probably its bold design, which makes the hotel a contemporary landmark in post-industrial Pantin… but that's before we get inside. True to the TRIBE mantra, this is a hotel “rethought” to complement modern lifestyles on the move – so it’s out with starchy formalities like the reception desk, and in with a warm welcome from smiling staff members who manage to check us in, serve us coffee and take our booking for Sunday brunch with humour and grace in the ultra-modern and adaptable Social Hub.
There is so much going on in this eclectic space by interior designers Double A Design, with its cosy mix-and-match armchairs and sofas overlooked by a bespoke artwork of cheetahs at play. Among the burble of chat, we hear a multitude of European languages, see laid-back millennials crouched over keyboards in hidden corners, and watch a bunch of local ladies laughing together over a bottle of Champagne, little dogs on their laps. We suddenly feel very much at home.
We're really impressed by the cool mini-boutique in the Social Hub – the hotel’s only been open since mid-2025 but it’s got its mojo together to form partnerships with hip French brands like IZIPIZI – we snap up a pair of their stylish sunglasses. The store also sells accessories from fashion house Rive Droite, and smart guests in the know are lining up to buy canvas bags adorned with the distinctive TRIBE logo.
Design-driven TRIBE Paris Pantin has come up with a winning formula for their guest rooms, which come in just two sizes and have the same polished and functional stripped-back luxury found throughout the hotel. Our Extra bedroom is a welcome – and welcoming – surprise, being spacious, bright and light with an oh-so-comfortable bed, which our suitcase fits neatly underneath, giving us even more space. Its soothing décor has splashes of cheery (and patriotic!) red, white and blue from the armchairs and rug, and we have peaceful, leafy views over the central garden. We’ve got everything we need – alarm clock, Nespresso machine for early-morning caffeine kicks, hair dryer and a Chromecast TV – but absolutely no fussy frills.
And the bathroom? Same ethos as our bedroom – simple, uncluttered and modern, with flecked marble walls, gleaming white basin and plenty of hot water in the rainforest shower. We also clock the big, refillable bottles of Kevin Murphy products and give TRIBE full marks for using these high-end but eco-friendly Aussie toiletries.
The room we love: Definitely the TRIBE Extra rooms with their views over the leafy internal garden... ours was so peaceful we slept like logs!
Putting its guests first is something TRIBE Paris Pantin does as a matter of course – and we’re pleased to say this shows in its foodie offerings too. No matter what time of day or night, there’s always something available if you're feeling peckish, whether it’s locally made soft drinks and a fresh pastry from the Grab & Go counter for someone catching a late flight, or a barista coffee at the bar for pals catching up mid-morning. And the restaurant? It’s open all day from 6:30am until 11pm. Proceedings kick off with an exceptional buffet breakfast of fresh pastries and bread baked in house, accompanied by regional cheeses – soft, creamy Brie being my top choice – charcuterie from local producers, seasonal fruits and juices squeezed in house. We get lucky with the weather this morning and eat perched at a little table among all the greenery in the “secret” central garden.
Later in the day, Chef Alberto Bonarrigo brings his special Italian magic to Pantin at TRIBE Table. We begin dinner with sharing plates of arancini, carpaccio and burrata subtly flavoured with truffle, rapidly followed by homemade cacio e pepe pasta – which brings Rome to my plate – and his signature merluzzo (cod) in a tangy Moroccan sauce. With barely any room for dessert, we squeeze in a lighter-than-light pavlova between us, and wash everything down with a fine Italian red wine.
Then it’s off to the marble bar for a digestive; here we come across TRIBE’s inspirational cocktail list. Porn Star Martini anyone? That’s a heady concoction of vodka, passionfruit liqueur and Madagascan vanilla. Delicious it is too. The bar stocks Mediterranean wines and local spirits, with non-drinkers well catered for in soft drinks and mocktails.
The artist behind the counter: We hear Chef Alberto Bonarrigo sometimes holds free pizza-making classes for hotel guests and locals alike.
At TRIBE Paris Pantin, they think of everything, so if you don’t want the formality of restaurant dining, why not order sharing plates at the bar? Join in with the frivolity and fun that goes on in the Social Hub – picking up cocktail recipes from the bar staff, swapping gossip with pan-European fellow guests and locals dropping in for the craic, salsa nights and DJ tunes. And if you have work deadlines to meet, just take yourself off to a quiet spot to get the job done in peace.
Good to know: Keep an eye on TRIBE’s lively events programme – it changes monthly, and there’s always something unusual or topical going on.
As with everything at TRIBE, guests are the number-one focus, so the gym opens for free use by hotel guests from 6am until 10pm – what bliss to be able to exercise whenever we want! We find the fitness centre on the garden level near the restaurant; it’s compact but well-equipped with running machines, bikes and free weights. We take our own music down there and manage a revitalising Pilates session, emerging relaxed and ready to face the day!
Despite only being 20 minutes from central Paris, Pantin is an emerging visitor destination in its own right, currently so on trend it’s nicknamed the “Brooklyn of Paris” for its post-industrial architecture and the burgeoning array of bistros, cafés and organic bakeries springing up in its streets. We soon find staying at TRIBE Paris Pantin puts us centre stage for strolls along once-gritty Canal de l’Ourcq – now an homage to street art – and a roster of impressive contemporary art exhibitions as well as big-name classical concerts at the Philharmonie de Paris.
There’s loads happening after dark; as well as cute micro-breweries and pubs along the canal, we find several rocking nightclubs in renovated warehouses near the hotel. In fact, we bumped into one of the club DJs this morning – she's staying on the same floor as us at TRIBE!
What’s so special: We love the thoughtful little touches around the hotel – like the library full of books about the local area and sights of Paris.
Insider tip: It was re-energising to eat our breakfast outside in the bright central garden; it’s a real bonus in sunny weather.
