Picture yourself in Malta's buzziest district, but with a chilled-out vibe. That's Number 11 St Julian's – an adults-only spot with the best of both worlds.
With its prime location, architectural boldness and a stunning vertical garden in the bar, needless to say that the hotel is packed with "wow" factors. But the real showstopper? The heated rooftop pool, perfect for a dip or cocktail year-round, with memorable St Julian's views.
Hammett's Mestizo restaurant serves unexpected Latin American flavours. You'll dream about their zesty ceviche and succulent Brazilian-style grilled beef long after you've left.
After dark, Paceville's famous nightlife is steps away. For quieter days, beautiful beaches are minutes from this urban gem.
Number 11 isn't just a place to crash – it's a chic launchpad for exploring Malta. Whether you're seeking romance, adventure or stylish relaxation, this place has you covered.
As we step into Number 11 St Julian's, the buzz of the city melts away, replaced by a chill Mediterranean vibe. The welcome drink, infused with local herbs, is a refreshing start to our stay. But it's the vertical garden, stretching from floor to ceiling, that really catches our eye – a stunning blend of nature and design that sets the tone for the whole place.
The hotel nails that perfect mix of city cool and laid-back Maltese charm. In the lobby and bar, we find ourselves drawn into the social scene. It's the kind of space where you can't help but strike up conversations with locals or other guests.
You'll love hanging out in the Living Room, a cosy spot with a carefully curated library. It's full of books about Malta and its islands – perfect for planning your next adventure or just soaking up some local culture. Prefer to see the world through a smartphone? Download Number 11's Destination Guide. It's packed with insider tips that'll help you explore Malta like a local. From hidden beaches to the best sunset spots (spoiler alert: the hotel's rooftop pool is one of them), this guide has it all.
Whether you're up for a night out in St Julian's or a quiet day in the Gozo countryside, the staff at Number 11 have got your back. They're always ready with suggestions and can help you plan pretty much anything
"The Big Difference": The year-round heated rooftop pool is a sky-high oasis in the heart of St Julian's. Open 365 days a year and maintained at a perfect 28 degrees Celsius, it's your slice of paradise whether you're beating the summer heat or enjoying a warm dip under the winter sun.
Perched high above St. Julian's, the rooftop pool is open all year round, keeping a pleasant 28 degrees even when Malta's famous 300 days of sunshine take a break. As you float in the crystal-clear waters, you'll get knockout views of the eastern coastline.
Thirsty? The High Flier Bar's Caribbean cocktails pack a tropical punch, or you can't go wrong with a refreshing Aperol Spritz (enjoyed responsibly, of course). Soak up the booze with some crispy tequeños – ideal for sharing with friends while you work on your tan. Later in the day, this is hands down one of the best spots in St Julian's to watch the sunset over a glass of chilled rosé.
After a day of exploring Malta's sun-drenched sights or diving into the island's buzzing nightlife, it's a pure joy to take a break in such a stylish hideaway. We reckon it's one of the best spots in Malta for young (or young at heart!) couples or solo travellers.
Sleek design meets welcoming warmth in the hotel's 91 rooms. After a hard day's night, you can sink into a plush bed draped with feather-light quilts. When you need a kick start, get under the invigorating rain shower. Then again, why rush when you can brew a cup of coffee and Chromecast your favorite show to the 40-inch Smart TV?
Space is something you won't be short of. Whether you want to stretch out and relax or keep the party going over a glass of bubbly, there's plenty of room. Travelling with friends? The Superior Rooms sleep up to three, while the Junior Suites can take four of you.
"Sustainable Style": The hotel is committed to eco-friendly practices, from energy-efficient systems to reducing single-use plastics.
If you're a foodie, you're in for a treat at Number 11. Hammett's Mestizo, the hotel's restaurant, is shaking up Malta's food scene with its Meso-South American flavours. The design is sleek but welcoming, with warm wood tones and a vertical garden that brings the outside in. It's the kind of place where you'll feel right at home, whether you're on a romantic dinner or making new friends over drinks.
Your day starts with a complimentary breakfast, and you've got to try the pastizzi. It's a Maltese pastry filled with ricotta or mushy peas and it tastes amazing. Later on, come for the guacamole, stay for the picanha beef rump served with chimichurri and cassava. We absolutely loved the pescado encocado – a whole fried fish in a coconut sauce that'll transport you straight to the Caribbean.
Everything's designed for sharing, so we try a bit of everything. And don't forget the drinks! You'll find some great South American wines on the list, or you could (literally) shake things up with a Pisco Spritz or a classic Caipirinha.
"Party time": We couldn't resist the Friday night cocktail masterclass - it's a chance to channel your inner mixologist. You'll learn to whip up a mean Pisco Sour and master the art of the Mezcal Negroni.
Step outside and you're in Paceville, Malta's party central. You can dance till dawn in pulsating clubs, hit up a pub crawl or enjoy a romantic evening sipping signature cocktails at a rooftop bar. Fancy some food with a view? Head over to Portomaso Marina. We love the waterfront restaurants there – nothing beats fresh seafood under the stars.
But don't think Malta's all about the nightlife. When you're ready to swap the bustling streets for some peace and quiet, fire up the hotel's digital Destination Guide. We discover gems like the Blue Lagoon on Comino island, with its otherworldly turquoise waters perfect for snorkelling, and the gorgeous Ġnejna Bay on the west coast, a secluded golden sand beach framed by rugged cliffs.
If you're up for a longer trip, hop over to Gozo island. We find ancient temples to explore, crystal-clear waters for diving and unspoilt beaches for lounging. Logistics? Not a problem. The staff at Number 11 are more than happy to sort out transport and tours for us.
