The room which I’ve booked was not the one which I’ve got. As arrive late, don’t want to spend time on that, during check out mentioned for re-imbursement. Staff said that they will check with manager but no feedback after a week. Waiting for any kind of info and gesture as a feedback, as I stay always with Accor hotels.

I travel extensively for business and I have visited 71 countries, spending well over 100 days each year in hotels across the world. I say this not to boast, but to make one point very clear: this was, without exaggeration, the worst hotel experience I have ever had, and one I would never want to repeat or see anyone in my network go through. From the moment I checked in, the experience was absolutely disappointing. I was allocated a basic disabled room without any explanation. When I queried this the following day at reception, no one could give me a clear or reasonable answer. This alone set the tone for the stay. The room itself was shockingly under-equipped. There was no phone, no complimentary water, no fridge, no ironing board, and no iron. For a Mercure-branded hotel in a major city like Zurich, this is simply unacceptable. To make matters worse, the WhatsApp number provided for guest assistance was effectively useless—only automated, pre-recorded messages, with no real person monitoring or responding. On my second night, I explicitly requested room cleaning. I displayed the door tag clearly stating “CLEAN MY ROOM” before leaving for business meetings. When I returned late in the evening, the room had not been cleaned at all. The receptionist then attempted to justify this by claiming there was a separate card left inside the room to request cleaning,this was a blatant and unacceptable lie . The sign I used was clear and unambiguous and there was no note in my room. I also requested clean towels. After using the towels provided, I developed severe itching that lasted for three days. In addition to this, I noticed tiny bugs in the room, which is completely unacceptable under any circumstances. When I finally managed to get an iron to prepare for meetings, I was handed one that leaked and couldn’t work, rendering it useless and adding yet another layer of frustration to an already terrible stay. To be absolutely clear: everything about this hotel fell far below even the most basic expectations. The service, facilities, communication, cleanliness, and accountability were all deeply disappointing. I will not be returning to this hotel. Furthermore, given the seriousness of this experience, I would strongly advise people in my professional and personal network to avoid it. I have a business network and social following of over 50,000 people, and this is an experience I will share with them . I am sharing this feedback because it deserves to be documented honestly. What I experienced at Mercure Zürich City was not just poor service,it was a complete failure to meet the standards expected of an international hotel brand. Regards, Alasan C.

The staff, especially the front desk personnel, are wonderful. While there’s a whole crew behind the experience, the front desk is the band’s “front man.” Also the cleaning crew did a great job! My room didn’t feel as if it were slept in before. Ultra clean rooms! 🙂

Overall very good. The room was really cold and couldn’t be heated more with the room regulator. The second day my room didn’t get cleaned, not sure why - I left early and didn’t put a sign.
