Overall favorable experience but tainted by preventable scary experience of being locked in one of two stairwells and only getting out by being strong enough to force open a door- this stairwell was close to my room and was not locked and had no warnings about not using it- could be disastrous for children or less physical persons

As an Accor member I have stayed at many Accor hotels. On this trip to France we have only stayed with Accor of which there were three different residences and at two of those stays we booked two rooms for guests joining us. While we found the staff to be friendly and accomodating, there appeared to be a lack of management and structure. 1. Main lobby bathrooms were unmaintained. In the last night we visited the lobby bar, I could see on the cleaning table in the bathroom at approx 9pm that it had not been cleaned all day (no date marked on the paperwork displayed). 2. On occasion we witnessed staff who presented as unprofessional in view of guests. An example was a bar staff that might have been in a training program sat at the bar (on the guest side) awaiting for our cocktails to be made before bringing them over. 3. In the room, no water was supplied and the beverages which were complimentary were inconsistently replaced. Eg. we drank a Coke Zero and it was replaced with another coke (full sugar). Also coffee, tea, sugar, milk, etc was not replaced daily during cleaning . Had to ask every morning for tea or coffee. 4. The fridge was also unclean with what appeared to be some muck stuck to the freezer. We couldn’t access the balcony - of which we paid extra for a suite. 5. When I requested an iron, it was promptly delivered but without any ironing board. 6. An alarm was activated at around 3am. We got dressed and started to head down and then it stopped. No announcement was made to reassure us that we could return to bed. In the morning we had to ask what was the reason for the disturbance and were told it was someone smoking in the room. There were many children staying at that time and I can only inagine how much more annoying this would have been for those parents. In summary, the staff were friendly but had no guidance (in my opinion). At no time were we greeted by management or witnessed anyone that appeared to be of management status. Was there a manager present at all????
