Terrible experience at Ibis Style Plateau

Worst experience so far in stays at Accor. - poor communication prior to arrival (even if shuttle services are no longer free, we deserve to know ahead of time and estimate costs. - use professional drivers: we had a very impolite and irritated driver to take us to the hotel, who spent his time on his phone. We paid 22000XOF for this ridiculous trip. Price variation: the price we booked online suddenly changed on arrival: reason: weekends prices are different from week days. - my colleague and I arrived after a 36 hours trip just to be told that we need to carry our 5 luggage boxes ourselves. - Big Scam: they told me to make a pre-authorization for 800 USD for the two rooms and that it will be refunded if we cancelled. I canceled both of them after an hour and was promised it will be returned immediately or in the coming days. It's been over a week now and I still did not receive anything. I can't wait to write a negative review for this specific experience.

Nicely located near to the CCIA. Clean and good services. Staff professional in general. Minus.: Elevators being repaired so not working quite often. The restaurant could have a menu card in addition to the buffet, which is good but the only option. WiFi was sometimes slow but that might the entire internet network, not WiFi per se.

Branded hotel with Very Poor card payment facility

I've been visiting the Ibis Plateau hotel since the last 5-6 years...I had raised a similar complaint and problem during my visit in October 2023 as well...till now the hotel is not equipped to handle a card payment from an international debit card or credit card even. The same card has been used by me for payment successfully elsewhere during the same trip. The hotel claims that they have only 1 card POS machine. So the solution offered.... withdraw money from the ATM and pay !! From the ATM a maximum 300,000.00 can be withdrawn at a time after paying a an additional withdrawal fee of XOF 3500 !! I was so skeptical of the hotel reception's capabilities that I offered to clear my dues 1 day prior to date of check out in anticipation of facing troubles at the last moment, similar to the almost 45 mins-1 hour spent during my last visit.

First impressions count and this ibis makes no effort to impress. The reception area looking tired was excusable but not the state of the rooms. Poorly lit, odd grey wall paint, thin mattress, stained shower cubicle, bizarre rails across room wall… nothing to be admired! And this was at the heart of afcon games when most hotels made effort to uplift their decor. A big shame! A big disappointment. Reduced a 5 night stay to 1
