Sub-par for a Mercure hotel

While we have stayed at several of the Accor hotels, including Mercures in multiple cities/countries, this was not our best experience. The disappointment was in the room itself. The mattress was overly firm, the pillows thin. We were assigned (but didn't require) an accessible room. In this arrangement, the shower was completely open in the bathroom. There was no shelf in the shower, so any of our personal items had to sit on the floor. When showering, you had to be cautious about the direction of the showerhead. Even keeping the shower spray as restricted as possible, half of the bathroom floor became wet. Luckily, the floor dried relatively quickly. We opted for a balcony room, but ours didn't have a sea view. Though it was nice to be able to step outside, I don't know that it was worth any extra cost. The parking garage was easily navigated. The breakfast room was pleasant. The staff was courteous.

We had a quick stop in Granville on our way to the Vendee. Room was lovely and cool, very comfy bed. Good shower. Great location right on the beach with a 50m pool at mid to low tide.
