First I couldn’t order room service until after 11am. They have a Starbucks coffee machine with only 4 pods to choose from. I go to ring reception, phone doesn’t work. I go downstairs to reception advised to use the internet connection to connect with reception. Well that didn’t work later when I tried it. Went to order breakfast from the restaurant, was told not included in my booking - I knew that - I just wanted to order some breakfast. Then find out guest laundry is not free for guests. Had to pay for both laundry powder and washer and dryer usage. It’s very outdated and should not be priced at its current rate because it doesn’t offer the standard luxury service you would expect for the price you pay.

We were reasonably satisfied but did pass on a couple of hiccups during the stay. TV would automatically come on with Accor image. We had to disconnect it from back of TV which was a bit scary as it was on the wall. The safe did not work. The hotel whilst clean was looking a bit tired. Appreciated the upgrade of room as it was a milestone 50 year wedding anniversary.

Bed just inside the door is a bit strange. Carpet looked dirty needs a good steam clean.

The Staff Were Amazing!

I was in Darwin for one night and needed a central location to stay. The staff were so helpful and provided both an early and late check out, which was very (very!) much appreciated. The atrium feel is so calming, which is also appreciated when I spend most of my life running around :) I definitely recommend the Novatel Darwin!

Not living up to its potential

The reception was friendly but I had made a restaurant reservation and had a confirmation email, but when our team of 11 arrived at the restaurant at the time booked, they had no record of the booking and a table was not ready. This led to the whole team using other places to eat over the week and would have lost the facility many thousands of dollars. Further, the carpet in my room (505) was very dirty and after spilling some drops of milk on it I used a face washer to wipe it up. The face washer was brown from just wiping up a few drops of liquid on the carpet. The lifts are slow and noisy and the breakfast which cost over $35.00 had limited choices.
