Overall experience was ok. If you have young children, this may be the spot but for older kids or just couples, it's just ok. Food was mediocre. Best food we had was actually the Italian food at their restaurant. Hotel is dated and doesn't look like it has had a refresh is many years. Pools were probably at a 85 degree temp which is a bit high if you're trying to cool down. Room size was great and having 3 bathrooms was nice but beds were uncomfortable (too hard) and not enough room to sit in the living room other than the one couch. The workers and the help were great. Very nice and wanted to help and really made the overall experience better. Our son got a stomach bug from the buffet and had a rough couple of days but doctor on call was quick to come to check him out and give him antibiotics to get better. Overall, not a place that we'd personally go back to but again, if you have younger kids and don't mind a place that is outdated and ok-ish food, it may be the place for you.

Solid resort. Food good quality, amenities very good. 2 bedroom suite very nice. Highly shows were good. Would have been nice if more variety in shows .... they were all dancing shows, so comedian magic act etc.

We stayed at Marival Emotions from April 6-10. We only ate on the resort and my son got food poisoning from the Silk restaurant. He was sick the day we were supposed to fly out, so when we took him to the hospital to be seen by a doctor and get medication, we missed our flight. Given we don’t know PV well, we opted to go back to Marival for an additional night however were charged over $11,000 pesos with no late check out (unless we paid extra). I am very disappointed in the care and attention we received from the staff at the resort, especially given the food poisoning came from the resort.

It started when I tried to talk to the manger about are rooms before we got there and he hung up on me. Then it even got worse. We were promised massages Champange strawberries facials and mani pedi but when we went to go get them either it was full and then there was an opening they said we needed a coupon even after I specifically asked the desk if we did and they said no. My first room the 2nd floor was flooded with toilet water and the safe didn’t work. Then I had to be mobbed due to them getting the rooms wrong. I was told my 1 son’s room was just across the grass. Which was not true it was a 10 min walk across the compound. I was suppose to be beside him. The food was boring every day the same thing. The I worst is they treat you like 2nd class if you didn’t spend $30,000 on a membership. They gave us a free coupon to one of the members only but we never used it as everyday the members had it booked. There was no seating by the pool as there rules are no holding seats till 8 but by 7 if not earlier ever seat was held even by rocks. They did nothing about it. There rules are so inconsistent it’s awful they refused to let my grandson play pool because he is 12 not 13 in the teen room with the whole family. They’re so rude and mean to kids especially. Go to another resort don’t waste your money it’s awful.

The lines at the buffets and bars were frustrating. The bed in the room was very uncomfortable and the room temperature would not go lower than 23.5 degrees Celsius. Options to visit the town were non existent.
