Not 5 star caliber, and not as advertised. Food poor to mediocre, wine undrinkable, cocktails watered down, restaurant service unacceptably slow. Forced to purchase dishwasher, laundry soaps, ice despite fridge icemaker; received as predatory, as were outrageous costs for cabanas. Main restaurant closed most of trip without prior advisement. Son-in-law suffered food poisoning 3 hours after leaving beach restaurant, bedridden 2 days. Despite advising staff, no follow-up or concern whatsoever from management. Pool attendant Daniel was exceptional, as was Lemongrass server Carlos. Otherwise, Distinct exceptionally failed us.

Enjoyed our stay. Clean facilities. Good food. Helpful staff. Irregular hours of restaurants was very confusing. Trying to find the menus while in our room and deciding where we wanted to go was difficult. The day we checked out we found out that the calendar we were given at check in was for the prior week. So we missed out on some events that we didn’t know about. It was nice to go to Emotions.

My husband had some physical issues that required transportation from the resort to the beach. They would give him a time to pick him up and then not show up. That happened several times.

Well, we were upsold for VIP which we chose, however we received alcohol that we did not want and the alcohol we chose was not given to us. We were told we would get a better room but the fridge leaked water, the coffeemaker did not work, the main air conditioner did not work and the hot water in one shower did not work. I felt we were lied to about the upgrade. This was definitely not an upgrade. We asked for our money back and a better room. The food was absolutely excellent but we found the service slow. On the second last morning our fire alarms went off in our room at 6 am!! I hope the next time we come back we have a much better experience.
