Our Basalt Restaurant & Bar is open for dinner 5 nights per week, Tuesday to Saturday from 5.30pm, with last orders by 8.30pm The seasonally changing menu includes the finest local produce from the South West and our attentive service is second to none.

The staff were friendly, and the rooms were kept clean. Overall, it was a good experience - however - my aircon didn't work which made it very difficult to sleep. Loud neighbours made this even more challenging.

Pros: - Room is spacious and well appointed. - View from the room is lovely (1 King Bedroom City View). - Food from the restaurant is delicious. - Free parking provided on site. Cons: - Aircon did not work on the first night of our stay. Asked to room move the next day and was offered a downgrade at first, but was then offered the same room type, after advising I did not want to downgrade. - Toilet in room was continuously running and could hear it filling up on a regular basis. One of the flush buttons was also not operational. - Mould present on wall tiles in shower (both rooms). - Welcome amenity not provided; only received the next day after enquiring. - Renovations required (exterior of hotel and rooms seem slightly rundown). Due to the issues experienced on the first night (no AC and toilet sounds affecting our sleep), I asked for some compensation. The Front Office Manager advised they would need to check with management, though, I was under the assumption the FOM could make that call. Have followed up a few times and have not received a response. I also asked to burn more rewards points towards my stay. I was advised this was noted on my booking and would be processed, however this never happened. Followed this up too on the day of check out, as well as the following day, but still no response. I note communication is lacking. No post-stay survey was received (intentional?). Still awaiting a response.
