Racial Profiling, Harassment, Assault & Room Changed Without Consent – Horrific Experience

My experience at the Ibis Hotel in Hounslow on May 29, 2025 was nothing short of traumatic, and I feel it is my responsibility to warn others, especially people of color and minority backgrounds, about the unacceptable behavior I endured there. From the moment we arrived, my husband and I were treated with suspicion and hostility. Despite having a confirmed booking for a specific room type, we were given a completely different room without our knowledge or consent. We were not even notified that the room had been changed—something no guest should ever have to tolerate, especially after a long journey. When we questioned it, staff were dismissive and unhelpful. The situation quickly escalated into something far worse. We were racially profiled and falsely accused of having “one man and two underaged girls” in our room. This lie was completely unfounded—it was just me and my husband, a married couple. The hotel then called the police on us based on this false and discriminatory assumption. This was an incredibly humiliating and terrifying experience. As if that weren’t enough, during this ordeal, my husband was physically assaulted by one of the hotel staff members, and I was also harassed and treated aggressively. Not once did anyone from the hotel offer a sincere apology or attempt to de-escalate the situation with professionalism or basic human decency. This experience has left me emotionally shaken and deeply disappointed that a globally recognized hotel chain like Ibis (under Accor) would allow such conduct from their staff. This was racial profiling, harassment, and abuse—and absolutely unacceptable. I have contacted Booking.com, through whom I booked this stay, to request a full refund and to report this incident. I urge both Booking.com and Accor to investigate this matter seriously and to hold this hotel accountable. I strongly advise anyone—especially minorities and travelers expecting fair treatment—to stay far away from Ibis Hounslow. No one should ever have to go through what we experienced.

Poor food selection and poor standard of food

The room was clean but very basic, we had a one night stay with bed and breakfast. We desided to have our evening meal at the hotel, we had half an hour wait in the que at the bar as there was only one memebr of staff taking order for and serving drinks and taking orders for food. Very limeted choice and when food came I was served first and my friend had to wait until I had eaten most of mine before she got hers, food was luke warm and very basic. Breakfast was limeted and hot food was cold not enjoyable at all, to sum up need more staff, more attention to tempretur of food as it should be checked with themomiter regularly and removed and replased if not at correct tempreture There were only 3 staff including reception on evening and about same at breakfast. Not good enough

A nice place to stay before an early flight from Heathrow airport. The room and bathroom were clean, a bed comfy. It was quiet at night despite lots of guests. Friendly staff. Good buffet breakfast. Easy to get from and to Heathrow by Hoppa bus. Will definitely stay again.

Rooms are nice,but not perfect . Fast check in. Breakfast was wonderful, with variety of coffee and juice, breads and hot food, nice atmosphere, young boys working hard to keep place organized. 👏 Dinner time I was expecting better service but was good.

Beware! Paid for parking but still ended with a fine

First time staying at the ibis and stayed for one night and paid for parking for 24 hours had an email confirmation that I’d paid for the hotel and parking. Arrived at hotel then checked in at reception told the receptionist I’d booked for one night and paid for parking when I booked hotel. So you can imagine my anger when 3 weeks later I had a parking fine for £100! Obviously I appealed the parking fine and sent evidence that I had paid for parking. But the parking fine was upheld saying I hadn’t followed the terms and conditions advertised in the area concerned. Why didn’t the receptionist tell me what I needed to do when I said I’d paid for parking when didn’t the confirmation email explain what you needed to to do to avoid getting a parking fine, because as far as I was concerned I’d paid the hotel for 24 hours parking!! I didn’t see any notices near to where I parked explaining what I needed to do. So if anyone wants to stay at this hotel be very careful not to be out of pocket like we are. Just like a recent persons review nothing but a parking scam 😡 On the positive side the hotel room was clean and tidy and in an excellent location for the airport.
