Terrible hotel do not stay!

The hotel is under renovation however they should not allow guests to book this hotel until it’s completed. Staines on the carpets, dirty rooms, it was a terrible experience for the price that was paid. For 350 per night I expected much more

Needs an update including the plumbing!

Hallways - need attention as there were massive marks/stains on the carpets and skirting boards seriously damaged. Bathroom - shower ran hot and cold, door had to be shut when showering otherwise the fire alarms would go off, toilet kept getting backed up. Beds - luckily they were comfortable, even though they were on wheels and moved all the time! Staff - were lovely but unfortunately won't be back.

Considering the cost, we were surprised at the standard of the room and the hotel in general. Breakfast in the restaraunt was expensive but we were told if ordered the day prior, it would be cheaper. This info plus any other information regarding emenities, restaurant, breakfast, gym times, local attractions etc. should have been available in the room, but there was none. Staff didn't seem to be too worried about addressing our concerns at the time either, which is dissappointing. Not the best start to our long awaited holiday. On a positive note the location of the hotel was handy as Circular Quay and darling Harbour are within short walks.

It was our first time in Sydney, and we are pleased that we booked Mercure Sydney Wynyard. The hotel is within walking distance of almost all the sightseeing tours in Sydney and the train stations. Staffs were friendly and helpful.

I have stayed at Mecure Wynyard at least 6 times in the past few years. The service and staff just keep getting better every time I visit. In particular, Thushana, the lovely man at reception repeatedly goes out of his way to make our stay so much more enjoyable. The rooms are very spacious, clean and comfortable. I would also like to mention the staff in the restaurant, whose service is second to none at any other restaurant in Sydney. The Breakfast and lunch menu is great. Fabulous food and wine at very reasonable prices. Definitely Sydney's "best kept secret" I'll be back again soon. Gayle Devine
