I’ve been a fan of this hotel for over a decade, and it was so nice to come back for the first time post-pandemic. The reception area has been upgraded and it looks great. Concierge staff at the entry are always very friendly. We had a suite room on this stay, which gave us access to the executive level. This included breakfast as well as drinks and afternoon tea. The breakfast buffet was very good. The room had a master bedroom, bathroom, toilet and a living space with a fold out couch. The fold-out had not been made up for our stay and I had to contact reception twice to get it sorted. But the staff were very friendly. Swissôtel Sydney is well situated equally from Darling Harbour and Circular Quay and is also a short walk to Paddy’s markets and Chinatown. So it’s a good location. The only real mark against them is our request for non-feather pillows was missed (allergies) however the hotel management have since made good with an apology, which was very much appreciated. I’d definitely return!

Extremely disappointing stay (ALL Gold member)

Overall, quite a disappointing stay with expectations not being met for Accor ALL Gold members. We had requested an early check-in, which I understand is subject to availability. We arrived at the hotel at around 11 am and the room was not ready. We were told that a room had been pre-assigned and we would be called/emailed when ready. Upon checking for an upgrade, we were informed that there were no rooms available and thus no upgrades. Strangely enough, there were several rooms across several room categories available to be booked online via the ALL app. The standard answer of the check-in agent for all our requests (including the early check-in and room upgrade) was "I'll ask my manager and get back". This was just a very insincere response and we weren't updated or gotten back to at all. We had requested a room AWAY from the elevators and this is a requirement that has been indicated in my Accor ALL member settings as well. When we finally checked in at 2 pm, we were assigned a room that was right next to the elevators and right in front of the housekeeping cabinet/room, which opened and shut with a very loud, disturbing thud. After a really troubled morning with the housekeeping cabinet door banging continuously from 6 am onward and the really noisy elevator outside our room and the expected guest traffic, we went back to the reception to ask why we were given a room right in front of the elevator and housekeeping door contrary to our preferences. We were given the same answer by the same check-in staff: I'll speak to my manager and let you know if we can arrange a room change. Even on the day of check-out, we weren't updated or offered a room change. Really shameful! On the day of check-out, we were asked how the stay was. Upon bringing up the aforementioned issues, the agent at check-in provided us with the standard response: "So sorry to hear that...I'll ask my manager to call you and have a word." We checked out on Feb 20th and we have neither received any call nor any email from these so-called "managers". As compensation for the noisy nights and bad room, she offered us a drink voucher, which we politely declined. Are you trying to compensate our 4 uncomfortable nights with a drink voucher? No thanks! Overall, this was a terrible stay. It is also an excellent example showing how having elite status holds no meaning when staying at Swissotel Sydney and how guest preferences are not catered to. Extremely disappointed and will never return to this property!

My adult daughters and I have just stayed 3 nights at this hotel. After reading reviews prior I have to say I was a little worried as they were really mixed. However from the moment we walked through the door to leaving today I couldn’t really fault it. The young man who helped us with our luggage when we arrived was very friendly and nothing was a problem. Reception and check in went smoothly, again a lovely young lady. In fact every time you walk past reception they usually sing out good morning etc. We never ate at the hotel but had a couple of drinks in the bar which was a very pleasant area to sit in. The room had 2 double/ queen beds. Given there were 3 of us with large suitcases I have to say the room was spacious which I was grateful for. Nothing worse than clambering over suitcases etc. Loved that the room had good light and lovely afternoon sun. No views to speak of, just looking out over the pool area to other buildings. The shower was seriously good, such great pressure. Loved it!! Only reason I have given 4 stars was that a couple of the days after housekeeping had been, towels were replaced, beds made etc but they left used wine glasses and mugs dirty on the table. Had thought these may have been washed and put away, wine glasses taken back to the bar etc. Anyway only a small thing. Will definitely stay again. Recommend as it’s also a fantastic location if you want to be in the thick of the shopping. Easy to catch the light rail down to the harbour too.

This hotel is handy to the CBD area for shopping. The staff were always super friendly and the room was lovely and spacious. The house bar was brilliant and had all the amenities you could want for a short stay. Very comfortable stay indeed…..
