An Accor Diamond 200+ room night guest of this hotel will never stay again
I have been staying at this hotel for around 8 years, previously returning for the consistently good service and comfortable rooms. I have stayed at this hotel more than 200 nights. So writing this gives me no pleasure at all, and is very sad for one of my previously favourite destinations. The deterioration has been evident over the last year or so, but it is so dire now that I will never again return. This is not a 5 star hotel - I would call it 3.5-4 star at best. The rooms have no bottled water and a small glass fit only for a child - so don't be thirsty. Even Accor Diamond members cannot get a bottle of water for their room. There is no mini bar at all, you have to order it. The rooms have marks all over the walls and chipping paint. The pipes whine and shudder when people shower, so you get woken from 4am when the early risers get up. Some of the lifts are so consistently out of service that if the hotel is full you have to wait 15+ minutes to get from your room floor to the Lobby. I appreciate as a regular business traveller I can have high standards, but previously this hotel met them and more so, made a huge effort to resolve issues. Now, it feels like a cruise ship - churning through hundreds at a low rate and with no regard for service. With very high quality business hotels in the area that have been recently refurbished, I can safely say I won't be returning.

One doesn't expect broken toilet seats and shower roses when paying premium prices for accommodation. The hotel seems modern in the foyer areas but is very aged on the floors and in the rooms. We were disappointed with the accommodation provided.

This is our favourite place to stay when we are in Sydney. It always exceeds our expectations. From check in, staff friendliness, quality and comfortable bedding, cleanliness, amenities and options for budget. We always stay in a club room which give you access to the luxury club lounge. Breakfast, afternoon tea and hors d oeuvres with alcoholic beverages late afternoon. No need to eat out. We upgraded to a suite again this visit which has a shower & full bath in the marble ensuite. Highly recommended for business or leisure. So close to The Quay, Pitt St Mall & Hyde Park.

A lovely gracious stay in a convenient location
We thoroughly enjoyed our recent 4 night stay at the Sofitel Wentworth, a hotel that has stood the test of time. All staff we encountered were friendly and helpful, our daily rooms service was appreciated and the Soiree Bar was a haven to return to for a drink after a busy day sightseeing. Rooms are however a little dark and furnishings dated, however the bed and pillows were great!

How hard is it to make a bed?

Stayed 2 nights Sat & Sun after checkin dropped bags off and headed out for night. When I got back and got into bed realised something wasn’t right with how bed was made. No mattress protector, sheets put on sideways so bottom of mattress not covered at all!! I had to strip bed and remake (with hospital corners) from scratch! (Not ideal at 1am!!) I do not expect this at a 3 star hotel let alone 5 star! Next day I asked housekeeping 3 times to fill up Body wash and moisturiser as it was empty - never happened.. I gave up speaking to people - just terrible service - won’t stay again..
