Poor service and salty food.

We booked this ages back and arrived to no seating allocated for us. The staff were friendly but had no connection with customers or ability to change the sub-par food. We were treated with much more respect and fed decent food at the Buxton pub the night before. Peppers is a pretentious waste of money.

Absolutely amazing service. Stayed for my birthday weekend and was greeted with chocolates, wine and an amazing charcuterie board. They shouted us free cocktails while waiting for our dinner booking and free coffee each morning (we are Accor Plus members so not sure what that entitled is to). Staff were beautiful and we will definitely be going back soon. Restaraunt was delicious with fabulous cocktails.

Pros 1. Friendly staff at check in 2. Clean - except the carpet in the room, which was stained in areas 3. Buffet breakfast was varied, friendly staff, can ask for eggs to be freshly made (scrambled and boiled eggs were part of the buffet, we ordered fried) was nice to have loose leaf tea bags 4. Plenty of free outdoor parking Cons 1. Could hear lots of noise in the corridor (people chatting and going in and out of their rooms during the night which disrupted our sleep) 2. Sofa bed was rock hard 3. Pool water was a bit murky 4. Have to pay extra for the movie channel 5. Check out seemed slow, long line at 10am. Express check out/key drop off would be a good option. For breakfast, a sign or QR code near the Nespresso machine with instructions on how to use it would be good, lots of us didn’t know and guests kindly showed others what to do.

Peppers was welcoming and relaxing right from check in until checkout. The room was tastefully appointed, spotlessly clean and the bed was sooo comfortable. We were at the back of the building and it was really quiet, able to sleep with the window open and wake up to the birds. The breakfast buffet is fabulous, lots of choice, leave time to enjoy it at a leisurely pace. Felt even better because of the lovely Rachel and the two friendly chefs. We didn’t have dinner at the hotel but the menu offered lots of appealing options. After a busy day of walking, a swim, sauna and a late lunch we opted for an early evening drink and a cheese platter, it was scrumptious and plentiful for two. Our two night stay was perfect, would have loved another night. Highly recommend.

This review is more to do with the restaurant. The food and presentation is first class. Would highly recommend this place to have a fantastic meal. The waiter/ bartender Sebastian is outstanding. Truly hope that he gets the recognition and salary that he deserves. Three staff on duty for the evening service. Two looking busy and doing nothing. Sebastian was preparing drinks and serving. Taking meal orders and delivering them. The wine menu is limited. But thank you Sebastian.
