Previously a Travel Lodge and needs a complete refurb. First room on offer had a damaged and badly marked carpet. We were relocated to another room, which seemed better. However, heater was badly marked/stained and output barely efficient to heat the room; curtain wasn’t hung properly; toilet seat was loose and moving around. Breakfast in a bag was not what we expected, given there is a restaurant within a minute’s walk. Previous experience, over the years, of other IBIS stays have been very good, especially Haydock - hence the disappointment with this one. Should have done our homework - would not go back or recommend.

The lady was nice and tried to move our room but we went from one that smelled like smoke to one that she overdid it with a fabreeze cam
