We had four nights at this wonderful hotel. Christmas Eve to the Sunday after Christmas. Firstly, the staff were fantastic. Enthusiastic to help. The cleaners for our room did an excellent job too. Then the foyer. The full bar, restaurant and coffee shop downstairs were excellent. At 2pm each day handmade chocolates for guests was a nice touch. The room. Our bed was very comfortable, we overlooked the Southern Cross Station and the people in the street below. Despite this the room (309) was pretty quiet. Quiet enough that we slept well, with just enough background noise during the day to add to the feeling we were in a vibrant city. Plenty of of hot water, room big enough to be comfortable. The whole hotel was as clean as a whistle too. Well done Movenpick. 👍🥂

You definitely can’t beat the location of this hotel! Lovely warm welcome … free chocolate hour, free water bottle refilling station. Our room was large, bright, had excellent lighting and everything we needed. We were on the 4th floor overlooking the station and I was worried about street noise … but we couldn’t hear a thing! Super comfy bed and pillows — I slept like a baby :) Security seems good — you need to use your room key to get up the elevators. The only negatives? We were shocked at the quality of the bathroom towels — super thin, some with holes, stains on others. Oh, and our bathroom fan wasn’t working — we notified reception on the third day of our week-long stay, and maintenance looked at it, but they said “that’s just how it is” (very weak and doesn’t really help vent the bathroom).

We love staying at this hotel as it has easy access to Southern Cross and tram routes. Also has a decent pool and spa. Rooms excellent as always and staff are all lovely. We always enjoy a drink in the bar to people watch at the busy intersection of Bourke & Spencer. Chocolate hour is a nice bonus and the new time of 2pm is much better. Breakfast has improved so much since our last stay and we enjoyed the selections. My only negative is that butter, jams and Vegemite are in jars and not in individual serves. It’s disgusting as people do not use fresh serving ware so full of crumbs etc. Change this aspect of our next stay and I will be happy!

This is the perfect choice for a short stay in the CBD right across the Spencer station. Very well connected from the airport via the SKYBUS or other modes of transport. This Movenpick hotel is head & shoulders above almost all the hotels in the mid luxury class & would rate it a 4 star for its excellent staff, service, room comfort, pool & the gym & value for money Also we were happy with the cafe bar facilities. Nothing to fault here & highly recommend to any couples or family in the city for events, functions or for a weekend stay

We were staying for 3 nights to see Oasis & go to the Derby at Flemington, the check in was very easy & a pleasant surprise that a deposit isn't taken The room itself is clean the bathroom has an overhead shower head & wand it's a little small but had everything we wanted, the mini bar only had 6 drinks & no water just sparkling. The location is perfect just outside Southern Cross station which meant you can shop at the outlets, take out food & restaurants, bars, mini marts or get a train. The only thing we were a little disappointed with was the restaurant breakfast buffet was pretty luke warm & I thought the large share plates were small for $49 overall I would consider staying again.
