Disappointing stay at Peppers

Completely ruined the vacation of two families. I booked my stay including breakfast, but after reaching hotel we were told that restaurant would be closing and no breakfast was served. We were also assured to get a refund for the breakfast during checkout but later hotel denied it. I couldn’t find a direct contact or email address for accor group to make complaint. I feel this like a scam providing misleading information during booking and not refunding the money that hotel owes to the customer without providing the promised service. I will never recommend or go back again to this place.

NOT a 5* - someone’s been paid off.

As an Accor Gold Member we should get a free room upgrade & late checkout till 12 or late depending on availability. Checked in & the room was average at best. Had friends staying too who were not members & their room was exactly the same. So there is no benefit being a member. I asked for a later checkout and Jason said we’re ‘almost’ fully booked. But couldn’t do past 11:30. Odd when check in is 2pm, plenty of time when a room turnaround is ~15mins. The hotel itself: Dated! From the lift (not knowing how long once pressed), to the hallway old stained & ‘vintage’ carpet odour, I knew the rooms weren’t going to be great. The room was an odd shape, massive pillar in the middle which blocks the TV viewing which its placement is so random. The shower is a dual handle, so harder to get temperature right, not like the modern singular ones (another sign of it being dated). With less than average pressure. Decor was from the 90’s. And hasn’t been updated since. We put the privacy hanger on the door but housekeeping ignored it and did the room, but didn’t put a new toilet rolls in, so only half did it anyway. This hotel shares rooms with residents & the sound from outside isn’t ideal. If you’re a light sleeper, go elsewhere with new double glazed windows. Our friends had breakfast & said it was a waste of money. This is a 3 star at best. No wonder it’s one of the cheapest 5 stars in Melbourne. There is no way on gods earth it’s a 5 star. Someone’s had a backhander. Accor have another hotel in Adelaide we stayed in, 4 star, which was hands down better. Cleaner & more modern. I won’t stay in a Peppers again.

I checked in about 10.30pm after a late flight from overseas, and found the staff very helpful. Was also able to organise a late check-out due to some jet lag. The room was quiet and spacious. Convenient location coming from the airport and also to catch a train from Southern Cross the next day.

Lift your game has the ability to be a beautiful hotel in a great spot.

No toilet brushes!! Seriously!! Also domestic toasted x 2 in restaurant for breakfast and 50 guests.. carpets need cleaning stains on hallways and rooms. When we arrived one of the rooms bed sheets pulled up had not been changed from last guests. Bar pictures not open on a Wednesday or Thursday night. No drinking water bottle the room which is usually a normal.

As an Accor Plus member, I booked this 5-star hotel as a special treat for my birthday and called ahead to inquire about any birthday surprise. Upon check-in, I confirmed again and was assured there would be a chocolate treat for me (no cakes or wines). However, nothing was provided—they simply forgot, said they must have been busy and offered no apologies. Additionally, the hotel doesn’t serve alcohol, so no welcome drinks were available, except for a Coke when I asked. I also tried turning on the air conditioning but couldn't find the remote and called reception, but no one picked up. Furthermore, the WiFi kept disconnecting. Overall, it was a very disappointing stay. Pros: Right next to Marvel Stadium and Docklands, walking distance to Southern Cross Station. Clean and comfy bed.
