We've stayed here several times. Bit disappointed this time. Dirty windows, small balcony outside covered in dead leaves,, only one spare pillow in the room, in room phone not working so had to use my mobile phone to contact the hotel request another. Was informed phone replacement not possible. A bit disappointing for $255 The hotel is very handy for Southern Cross station but others are too.

My sister and I stayed for 6 nights, we had a standard room with single beds. When we checked in (thursday) we were told there would be no room/maid service on the sunday which was fine and we accepted that. However on the monday our room was not serviced at all, when we went to reception to get new towels they had no reason as to why it wasn't done and offered us free breakfast for the next day which would have been good but we were already getting free breakfasts each day, so nothing more was offered to us other than assurance that it would be done for the rest of our stay. Went to the tennis all day (tuesday) and came back to our room to find they had made the beds but again not changed the towels, so again go back to reception to get towels and again get told they don't know why it wasn't done. The sheets do not fit the bed, a flat sheet is put on the mattress and comes loose as soon as you lie in it and you end up just lying directly on the mattress itself. If these sheets are the best standard you have then I suggest that management sleep on them for a few nights and see what your guests have to use. On the positive side when we told reception that our room was missing a hair dryer we were given one immediately. The breakfast staff do a great job and were friendly and pleasant to deal with as were most of the staff we came in contact with.

Very basic and tiny

Standard rooms are very basic and tiny. Less than a foot between the bed and the door. Lighting not good for working at desk.

We were warned it would be noisy and that was correct. It’s near the station and busy roads of course but the real problem is the lack of internal and external insulation. We asked for a quiet room and got one by the lift! We were moved the next day at our request. We booked it because of its location and that also proved to be accurate. A straight bus run into the station from the airport and we picked up the Avis hire car a few days later from the same location. Easy access to free public transport. It’s the only place in Oz so far where the coffee at the bar was poor (full of grounds). The staff were friendly. So overall as expected. But despite the location benefits we won’t be staying there again.

Right opposite Southern Cross station where the airport bus pulls in and on Collins Street with more trams than you can count it's located in a transport hub. Makes life easy. Rooms were clean and decor was nice. Highly recommend.
