Stopped here six nights as part of a recent rugby tour. I was apparently upgraded to an apartment. Broadly, I thought this was pretty good. It is clean and comfortable and more than enough room for one of me. The bathroom is well equipped. Location-wise, this is perfect for southern cross station, as per other reviews, and a short walk into central Melbourne. I was told that room service didnt operate on a Sunday, which was fair enough, but otherwise my room was cleaned daily. I had a couple of minor issues - there is only one lift to the apartments and this was out of order for the bulk of my stay. Im relatively fit, so stairs werent an issue for me, but if you have mobility issues this would have been a big problem. The room is quite loud at night, so take earplugs if you sleep light.

This hotel is a historic building in a good location in Melbourne. I had booked the wrong date via Qantas hotels and the hotel kindly assisted me to rebook, despite the rate being non refundable. I appreciated that. The room we had, at the top of the building, had a skylight in the ceiling that woke us up very early. Also the corridor outside the room had a motion sensor light and given the room had windows facing out - this also woke us up. The room we had was quite small and the beds were a little bit worn out, but there was ample space for the two of us. We ordered pizza in for the night, which was delivered to reception. I let the staff know about the difficulty sleeping, when we checked out. They didn’t take much notice. I initially submitted a review here following that. However in the interim, post-stay support from the hotel’s customer care manager has made me feel as if they’ve now taken the feedback on board. So i felt it only fair to delete the original, and replace it with this feedback to reflect the improved situation. I wouldn’t stay in the same room type again, but I am keen to try the hotel again, as it is a bespoke design with some very interesting heritage.

First of all The photos of the rooms advertised on their website are a catfish, the real rooms looking nothing like the ones advertised with only one tiny window making the room extremely dark at all times. For half of our stay the lift was broken with my wife being locked in the stairwell just trying to get to her room. We also had somebody repeatedly knock and try open our door on the first night which we notified staff and heard nothing back. This hotel was a far from 4 stars and a pitiful excuse compared to what was advertised on their website. Do not stay here!

Poor hotel opposite southern cross station

Very poor hotel some of the rooms are beautiful but some are like hostels. The bad rooms are so bad that there is no space for the kettle so it is on the floor. Service is poor and run like a hostel and hotel is used by groups and school parties so there is a sudden influx and no space at breakfast or lifts for 30 mins. It is clean and the good rooms are good but not worth the risk they allocate you a box. If you are visiting the marvel arena or conference centre and want a place to crash at it is great location but there are plenty better hotels in the area

No housekeeping despite they claim to offer Daily Housekeeping.

Recently stayed for 3 nights in a studio apartment. Room was good size with average view of collins street. Corridor carpet is in need of replacement. Reception staff need lessons in customer service. Did not explain where to catch the lifts to our room, nor did they mention there is limited housekeeping on Sundays and that we had to request for housekeeping on Saturday for Sunday with reception. Check in information says daily housekeeping. Well on Saturday afternoon at 4.45pm housekeeping arrived to clean our room. We had been out all day and returned to freshen up before going out at 5.15pm. I asked for them to come back at 5.15pm and she refused and said it was do it now or it won' t get done. I said come in. She stated that we were not allowed to be in the room whilst she cleaned. So room/bed did not get changed. Was given towels and she left. No housekeeping arrived on Sunday as I had not asked at reception for the room to be cleaned as I didn't know I had too. So for our 3 night stay we had no housekeeping. Very disappointing. Also onsite car parking is very tight and limited spaces available. Would I stay here again...no. Only thing going for this place is the bed was comfortable and great location for going to the footy.
