Navigating through the everlasting roadworks of Liege in the rain wasn’t pleasant for the last 15 minutes of our journey to the hotel. Upon arrival, the hotel carpark was completely full because of a wedding function where many of the guests were staying overnight. Then at check in we were given our room and it surprised me that it was on the first floor as I had requested a higher one, but I could not be bothered to say anything as I was already stressed. The next morning at breakfast we discovered that my name wasn’t even on the guest list and the room I had was allocated to someone else. Upon checking with reception, they had mixed up the rooms, and given the room that had been allocated to me to another person, but not updated my name. This could have caused problems had things been charged to the room or there had been damage. Apart from this, as always, the hotel was very clean, staff pleasant and I had a good night sleep. It will be interesting to see how well I sleep once the new tram is active right outside the window by the river.

Good experience but there were a problem with the heating system, very noisy during the night I think that is necessary a review on the HVAC system of the fifth floor.

Terrible service all around. When I first arrived the receptionist told me I have to pay even though it was already payed by my company. It took at least 5 minutes for him to realize that it was paid and didn’t even apologize afterwards for wasting my time. Secondly, the key card they gave me kept having problems whenever I was coming late and wanted to enter through the main doors of the hotel, it didn’t work. This happened at least 3 nights in a row and every single time I needed to go to the reception and tell them. They just passed it real quick through a demagnetizing device and that was it. Well, it didn’t work until a younger receptionist came up with a different approach and then it worked. Thirdly, almost every morning at breakfast whenever I turned around, leaving my table to go grab something else they immediately took everything off the table and cleaned like I was gone. At this point I got really mad because I just couldn’t get off my table to take anything, even a coffee from the coffee machine without the waitresses taking my food and drinks that I was clearly still enjoying. One morning a guy even tried to take my plate that still had food on it even though I was at the table. Of course not only he didn’t apologize, but he even looked weirdly at me. Absolutely disgusting“service”. I have been to 2 stars hotels that treat their guests better. I asked them for more soap and shower gel. I come back and see half bottles in the bathroom. A 4 star hotel can’t afford a full bottle of soap?! Lastly, the location is absolutely terrible especially now with the construction of the tram lines. Don’t even bother cleaning your shoes or going out with nice shoes because there is mud everywhere. How did this hotel receive 4 stars is a mystery for me. Like I said, I have been to 2 star hotels that treated me with respect and didn’t take the food from under my nose.
